Kanye West used his proceeds from his Fondation Louis Vuitton concert series to give back.

In early March, Kanye West performed a series of exclusive concerts at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. The proceeds from the ticket sales were split between Donda’s House and another chartiy, “No quartiers ont des talents.” Of the proceeds, $133,000 was collected and given to Donda’s House.

Donda’s House is a Chicago-based arts institution named in honor of Kanye’s mother, Dr. Donda West. Donda’s House launched in 2013 and focuses on the enrichment of the minds of youth ages 14 to 24 years-old. Participants attend a 12-week program that include educational courses in the areas of creative writing, health, wellness, and studio recording.

Donda’s House was among 30 social service programs in Chicago that lost state funding through the former Governor Pat Quinn’s administration. Kanye West’s support will help the institution continue its high-quality programming and retain top staffing.

Kanye West services as co-founder alongside Che “Rhymefest” Smith.
