Atlanta Dream Lose Home Opener to Connecticut Sun

The Connecticut Sun defeated the Atlanta Dream 75-70. The Dream lost at home in a rare defeat. The Dream had the best home record in the East last season in the WNBA. The Sun were led by Alex Bentley game-high 17 points. Chelsea Gray came off the bench to score 14 points for the Sun. Jasmine Thomas had an all-around game with 13 points, game-high 7 steals and 6 rebounds for the Sun. Kelsey Bone had 11 points and 5 assists for the Sun.

Sancho Lyttle led the Dream with 16 points and game-high 14 rebounds. Tiffany Hayes scored 12 points for Atlanta. Angel McCoughtry had 10 points and 7 rebounds for the Dream. Erika de Souza posted 8 points and 11 rebounds for the Dream. The Dream are off to a 0-2 start this season after two tough losses. The Sun are now 1-1 after losing their season opener. The Dream are looking for their first victory this season when they host the San Antonio Stars this Thursday. If they lose three in a row, it’s going to be a very long season.
