Donald Trump is the richest presidential candidate and it’s not even close. The second richest candidate is former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Carly Fiorina at $59 million meanwhile Trump claims to have a net worth of $10 billion ($4 billion according to Forbes™). At a burn rate of 74% he seems to be willing to spend as much money as it takes too win him a bid too the Oval Office. For those who do not understand, a burn rate is the “amount of time it will take a company to exhaust its capital cushion” (www.investinganswers.com).

Trump stated that he would provide roughly $1.9 billion dollars out of his own pocket and would be able to sustain himself if needed. While Trump has more wealth then all the others combined, he is the only candidate who will not receive aid from super PAC’s. Too put into perspective just how rich Donald Trump really is; even government forms are not enough for his massive accumulation of wealth. The forms option for largest amount of wealth to declare is “$50 million or more”. However, just because Trump has a generous sized bank account doesn’t give him that much of an advantage over his competitors.

During the 2012 presidential election, Barack Obama had raised $1.1 billion meanwhile Mitt Romney raised $1.2 billion. And as of this past week, Republican candidate Jeb Bush raised an astonishing $103 million. Also, whether Trump has $4 billion, $10 billion, or something in between, majority of his money is in form of real estate and is not a liquid asset. Throughout the past few months of campaigning Trump’s spending has reached astronomical numbers. Let’s continue too see how absurdly Donald Trump spends his money.
