Gocha Hawkins, owner of Gocha Salon and newest cast member of WE tv’s “L.A. Hair”, hosted an official grand opening event this past Saturday (Aug. 15) during Bronner Bros Hair Show weekend. The Midtown Atlanta salon is the second location for the 20-year veteran since moving to Atlanta five years ago.  Stylishly positioned in the heart of the city, Gocha Salon officially opened its doors to over 200 guests, which included family and friends, clients, celebrities, icons in the hair industry, and even the entire cast of “L.A. Hair.”

As a celebrated celebrity hair stylist, who’s touched the manes of everyone from Serena Williams to Beyonce’, Gocha Hawkins was graciously supported by two icons in the hair care industry. John Paul Dejoria, billionaire and CEO of Paul Mitchell Systems and Robert Cromeans, the world’s most famous hair stylist and Paul Mitchell Systems Global Artistic Director. Both attended the event to personally congratulate Gocha Hawkins on her latest accomplishment. John Paul Dejoria also gifted Gocha with an exclusive bottle of platinum Patron Tequilla.

When asked how important was the acknowledgement from John Paul Dejoria and Robert Cromeans for her as an African-American female business owner, here’s what Gocha said…

“It was a monumental moment to have such icons (John Paul Dejoria and Robert Cromeans) at my grand opening. I have been using Paul Mitchell products for years and to have the owner of a billion dollar brand share my special moment, with my staff and friends, was a major accomplishment for my career. I truly appreciate John Paul and Robert, and everyone that came out, for helping me celebrate this next journey in my career and as a businesswoman.”

Several well-known faces from the reality television world came out to support as well. In the building were Phaedra Parks and Carmon Cambrice of “Real Housewives of Atlanta;” Kim Kimble and Jonathan Antin of “L.A. Hair;” “Married to Medicine” cast members Dr. Heavenly, Lisa Nicole Cloud, Quad Webb-Lunceford and Toya Bush Harris; “Cutting It: In the ATL” cast Maja Sly, Dedra Allen, Beautii Joseph, and LaKenya Morris; Erica Dixon (“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta”); Toya Wright, and Latavia Roberson.

After the cocktails and hors d’oeuvres flowed, the cast of “L.A. Hair” (Terry Hunt, Dontay Savoy, China Upshaw, Anthony Pazos, and Naha Rickette) took a brief moment from the festivities for Q&A.
