The Minnesota Timberwolves have named Zach LaVine their starting Shooting Guard. LaVine came off the bench last season as a Rookie. LaVine will replace Kevin Martin in the starting lineup, who has been the Wolves starting shooting guard for the last two seasons. Martin averaged 20.0 points and 3.6 rebounds last season.

LaVine only averaged 10.1 points and 3.6 assists in his Rookie year last season. The Head Coach wanted to develop younger players and that’s the main reason LaVine is the starter. At the end of last season, LaVine put up all-around numbers and showed glimpses that he could become a starting guard in the NBA. Martin should become the Wolves Sixth Man and provide a spark off the bench. LaVine has a bright future ahead of him and could become a candidate for Most Improved Player this season.
