Last night, Bravo premiered the eighth season of their hit reality show “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. Most of the fan favorites returned this year (Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams, and Kenya Moore) with the exception, or rumored to be, Nene Leakes. Although Nene Leakes was, at one point, adamant about not returning to the franchise, either she’s had a change of heart or the money was right. Now the word is that she will return for a few episodes throughout the season.

New to the cast is actress Kim Fields. This season, we’ll get to learn more about the “Facts of Life” star and her family dynamic. Of course, the verdict is out on whether she’ll be able to sustain the attention of the viewers.

Not on the scene in season 8 is Claudia Jordan. But, do we care though?

On the first episode a lot transpired and it’s safe to say that we will get a eye full from the ladies.

Oh, Kandi is pregnant…finally! Todd and Kandi is now on the trail of becoming new parents again. The two are quite busy with Kandi Factory and Todd Tucker Productions projects. But, they’ve found the time to have a baby. However, it is Kandi’s OB/GYN, Dr. Jackie from “Married to Medicine,” that’s concerned if fibroids could affect the pregnancy. That’s not the only thing that bothering the Burruss/Tucker household though. Kandi and her longtime friend, Phaedra, is still dealing with one another on a sour note. Todd tells Kandi that Phaedra still owes him money for his production services on the workout DVD that her and Apollo did. Todd feels that Phaedra is shady and that since she’s her friend, Kandi should confront her about the money.

Phaedra says she is cordial with Apollo…yeh right! Apollo is doing his bid for fraud and tells Todd that he hasn’t seen his kids. Todd reveals this to Kandi and explains that Apollo says Phaedra hardly even answer the phone now when he calls. Phaedra, on the other hand, insists that all is good in their broken household and that they speak “quite frequently”. Somebody lying!

Kenya, chile…! There’s nothing wrong with purchasing a foreclosure, but as divalicious as she comes off to be, this wasn’t it. Ironically situated in the same neighborhood as Sheree Whitfield’s “Chateau Sheree,” Kenya takes Cynthia to her new home. As horrific as the property looked on television, Cynthia shaded the HE-L-L out of by asking who stayed her previously “Freddie Krueger or Jason?” Kenya, of course, use the moment to shade her neighbor Sheree and wonders if she’ll ever need to borrow “some money for a light bill”. The shade continues later in the episode when Sheree (who will make several appearances this season) and Kenya come face-to-face at Cynthia’s eye wear launch party.

Cynthia and Peter is having problems! Things are looking weary for the supermodel and the Jamaican Don Dada. A video surfaced on the net where Peter was seen inappropriately fanagaling with a BarOne customer. Cynthia is pissed and believes her husband disrespected her. It’s been rumors that Peter loves the ladies but, for Cynthia, this was the straw that broke the camels back. Her distaste for his actions spills over to the eye wear launch and there was way spillage than most expected. Cynthia’s sister, Marjorie, tells the girls that Cynthia is so off-put by Peter that she isn’t attracted to him with his clothes off. Damn…

Besides Sheree, Marlo Hampton makes a cameo on the show as one of Cynthia’s VIP guests at the Cynthia Baily Eyewear event. It is unknown how many more times we’ll see fashionista Marlo. We will see how Kim Fields role play out, starting on episode 2. As for Porsha, her antics with the new boyfriend-that-quickly-turned-ex seems a bit scripted. Her dating a 24-year-old NFL player doesn’t even fit the bill. But, we’ll be watching…I guess.

Tune in to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” every Sunday at 8PM ET on Bravo!
