On Thursday Feb. 12, 2016, the story of Olympic great Jesse Owens traveled to Toronto, Canada. Focus Features and cast members were in the city to host a special screening of the film and to help kick-off NBA All Star Weekend. The event was held at the Scotiabank Theatre and was attended by RACE lead actors Stephan James (“Selma”) and Jason Sudeikis (SNL/”We’re the Millers”) as well as Rick Fox (NBA.com’s “After Dark with Rick Fox”), Donovan Bailey (Track and Field Olympian), Michael “Pinball” Clemons (American-Canadian Vice Chair, Toronto Argonauts) Dalton Pompey (Toronto Blue Jays), Drew Scott (HGTV’s “Property Brothers”), Norm Kelly (Toronto City Councilor), Shanice Banton (Actress) Shamier Anderson (Actor) and others.

RACE is based on the incredible true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy. RACE stars Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, Carice van Houten, Shanice Banton and William Hurt. It is directed by Stephen Hopkins (“The Ghost and the Darkness,” “24”).
