When we listed the names of petitioners against Georgia’s HB 757 bill, Tyler Perry’s name was no where on the list.  However, Tyler Perry has finally spoken up and released an official statement aimed at Gov. Nathan Deal’s plan to sign the bill into law.

According to Deadline.com, a spokesperson from Tyler Perry’s Studio’s stated…

“At Tyler Perry Studios, we believe in inclusion and equality for all people.”

“We do not tolerate bigotry, division and discrimination,” concluded the Perry spokesperson. “We have tremendous confidence in Governor Deal’s leadership and ability to continue to lead our great state forward and urge him to veto this bill.”

TP Studios has made a major impact on the community since its inception. Also, Tyler Perry continues to bring more business to the state through the expansion of his studio complex at old Fort McPherson Army Base.

He joins other major players in the film and television industry who are against the “anti-gay” bill: Netflix, Time Warner, CBS, Fox, Sony Pictures, Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners, NBCUniversal, Discovery, Open Road Films, The Weinstein Company, Lionsgate, and MGM to name a few.
