Is Monica Brown in the running to replace Tamar on “The Real?” It seems that she might be, considering Monica was asked to return to the daytime talk show as a guest co-host this week.

The R&B singer and mother of three joined co-hosts Loni Love, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Houghton, and Jeannie Mai to discuss the hot topic of the past week: politics and racism.

Having parents and grandparents who were raised in segregated communities in the South, Monica discussed how hearing of certain incidents of racism growing up affected her. She also suggested that American’s unite  in efforts to end racism.

“This election has also given way to a lot that was already there, clearly, but it was hidden. So what this election has done is made people that are comfortable with racism, and things of that nature, who initially felt like, ‘Okay, I’ll keep that to myself or amongst my core group’… it has now become widespread and accepted,” she said.

“The recognition that there is a problem means that we must unify. We can no longer ignore what has to be done.”

This episode of “The Real” airs today, November 15.
