Barbara Walters isn’t feeling former child actors being on “The View.”

Sources tell the NY Post that Barbara Walters believes ABC executives have ruined the brand of “The View.”  She thinks the constant change of hosts and ongoing cattiness will eventually tarnish the show’s legacy. A statement made by the “source” even hinted to the fact that former co-host Raven Symone even played her part in the show’s potential demise.

“She feels they’ve ruined the franchise that she and Bill Geddie built. Instead of focusing on smart, educated women with strong talent, they cast uninformed child actors on the show. The legacy has been compromised because of poor casting and bad leadership under ABC News.”

Apparently, Walters is so disgusted with “The View” that she refused to participate in a post-election special, which would have reunited her with Debbie Matenopoulos, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar and Star Jones.

An ABC rep, of course, denied the rumors.

“There’s no better producer than Barbara Walters, and we’re always grateful for her notes about the show. The ratings are up, and we’re very proud of the team.”

But as the ratings stay favorable, it’s obvious to viewers that a lot’s been going on behind-the-scenes. In October, Raven-Symone left the show. Candance Cameron Bure recently announced that she would not return after being missing for several weeks, as reported by the NY Post. Some speculate that she was close to having a mental breakdown. When Bure finally returned, she immediately asked to be released from her contract.
