Well, it seems that Mary J. Blige is not the only one in the “thick of things.” When you see what Candice is up to and the lengths she will go to keep her family from loosing their home, then you might be second guessing who you trust after all.

You guessed it! “The Haves and the Have Nots” are back for their fourth installment of the scripted drama series, which premiers on the OWN Network on January 3rd.

Starting the year off with a biihhh what?? Director Tyler Perry upped his game by throwing some much needed greed, manipulation, and silver-toned weapons to throw viewers for a loop. The highly anticipated series left many questions answered in the first episode, but before I spill some of the tea on the lengths a mother would go (i.e. Katheryn to get revenge on… darn it there I go)…

Orchestrating a very well high-classed lunch for the media, 135th Street agency joined ventures with OWN to invite media to preview the first episode of the season. The black table cloth event was held at the W in Midtown. Media and industry executives where met with Nora Farm Stone Ground Cornbread, Corkscrew styled Mac and Cheese, Fried Chicken, and a very interesting appetizer dish called Field Pea Cake made with Scallion Vinaigrette- for the vegetarians preference. And the tea, well that was served on the tips of the cast mates tongue when Rene Lawless a.k.a. Katheryn was asked what she wanted more in the coming seasons. Her response, ” I just want to get some.”

Although she was not alone in the Q&A session after the screening, Drake’s twin a.k.a Tyler Lepley and the beautiful Angela Robinson shared their high points of their roles this go round. Lepley explains how his role will take a more stern approach this season. He will not just keep getting played to the left and standing up to his sister Tika Sumpter a.k.a Candice, which is maybe the only hope his mother may have left.

How viewers may see Veronica this season Angela says, “I love her smarts, I love that she is incredibly educated and she made a life for herself. I love that you will get to see myself a black woman fighting for her family and the things she is fighting for. Men always get to play diabolical, and they get to play ruthless but when women do it they are just a bitch. But I love that she gets to play all those things and is smart while doing it.” And ruthless she will be.

Before I dish on anymore revealed secrets, I will let you all figure out who wakes up in the hospital bed or who does not when “The Haves and the Have Nots” returns to OWN, January 3rd at 9pm ET/PT.
