Donald Glover has secured the bag.

The success of FX’s “Atlanta” has been the talk of Hollywood and it’s star and creator, Donald Glover, is reaping some huge rewards. Just a week ago, Glover received two Golden Globe awards for “Atlanta.” Now, Glover have signed a production deal with FX Production that will enable him to create new series for FX Networks, other networks and streaming services.

The announcement was made just prior to the Television Critics Association press tour. According to FX president of original programming Nick Grad, Glover’s talent as a producer is amazing and “Atlanta” was just the beginning:

“Donald is a remarkable artist, effortlessly shifting from actor to writer, producer, director and musician to create one amazing project after another. ‘Atlanta’ was just the beginning, the breakout comedy of the year and a series revered as much for its originality as its honest look at the experience of being aspiring, young and black in that legendary city. We’re proud to partner with Donald in an overall deal that will allow him to continue turning his creative vision into incredible television.”

“Atlanta” garnered over 4.84 million viewers on average (among ages 18-49). The network renewed the show for a second season, however, “Atlanta” won’t hit the tube until 2018.
