Jay Z’s production deal with The Weinstein Company is prepping their next projects, which will focus on Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon Martin’s life and legacy will be honored with a six-part docuseries. Jay Z, Harvey Weinstein and David Glasser met during Oscar weekend and became fond of Martin’s story, after his parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin pitched their book “Rest In Power.” The parents pitched the book to several studios and Jay and Harvey came out on top.

The injustice surround Martin’s death and its affect on our society will be captured in two separate projects. Jay Z and Weinstein won the rights to “Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It” and “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.”

According to reports, “Suspicion Nation” is written by Lisa Bloom and details her experience while covering the Martin trial for the NBC network. Bloom points out mistakes made by prosecutors that inevitably made them lose the case.
