BET hosted its upfront today (Thursday) in New York and announced a plethora of new shows, including biopics on Bobby Brown and Suge Knight.

After the huge success of “The New Edition Story” group member Bobby Brown is getting his own shot at a series. “The Bobby Brown Story” will be a two-part, four-hour miniseries focusing on the struggles and successes of the Bad Boy of R&B.

The scandalous life of Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight, is also in the works. BET will air Knight’s story as a six-part documentary on the rise and fall of Death Row Records and its legendary artists — Tupac Shakur, Snopp Dogg and Dr. Dre, according to Variety.

Also, greenlighted are shows executive produced by 50 Cent (“50 Central”), Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, Wanda Sykes, and Kevin Hart.
