Tupac Shakur’s personal memorabilia continues to make headlines. Many of the late rappers personal items have been sold by several auction houses for thousands. Well, more bids are being made for this latest set of Tupac artifacts.

“We are incredibly proud of the diverse and historic items we have assembled for our Spring Premium Live and Online Auction,” said Ken Goldin, Founder of Goldin Auctions. “Ever since we sold one of his hand-written letters in October for $172,750, the demand for the limited number of Tupac memorabilia has continued to grow. We hope his fans and collectors enjoy the opportunity to bid on these unique items.”

 

Here’s a look at the seven (7) lots of Tupac Shakur memorabilia up for bids. Items #1-70 will be sold during the live auction on May 20 (at NYY Steakhouse in New York). Lot #56 – Tupac Shakur Hand Written 2-Page Lyrics to “Pain” Written for the Movie Above the Rim – Originally, Dr. Dre, rejected “Pain” for inclusion in the film. However, after hearing a remix of the song, Dre included the song. This remix would go on to become one of the most influential rap songs of the 1990s. Offered here are two pages of handwritten lyrics to “Pain” that represent the original draft of the song. The first page features Tupac’s first verse, while the second page features the third verse of the song, also performed by Tupac. The first verse is written in black and blue pen, with the second verse written solely in black pen. Each page of lyrics comes with an individual LOA from JSA (Current Bid $7,500)

 
Lot #102 – Tupac Shakur Hand-Written Lyrics to “Cradle 2 Grave” – This song, from the album “Thug Life Volume 1″ is unique in that the lyrics begin with Tupac’s birthday, June 16, 1971. His lyrics are written on 8 ½” x 11″ notebook paper in both blue and black pen, with certain bars crossed out and heavily edited, including a reference to Patrick Swayze’s character in the hit movie Ghost. These handwritten lyrics provide an intimate look at the songwriting process of one of rap’s great artists, and provide incredible value when examining his work. The first page of lyrics is completely full of hand writing, while the second is only a few lines. Each page of lyrics comes with an individual LOA from JSA (Current Bid $5,000)

 
Lot #100 – 1995 Tupac Shakur Personally Owned City National Bank Card – This card, which was good through October of 1995, would have been with Tupac during his early years with Death Row Records. In this time, Tupac was busy diversifying his career, appearing in critically acclaimed movies such as Juice, Above The Rim, and Poetic Justice. This credit card is gray, with the engraved name “TUPAC A SHAKUR” on the bottom left portion of the card, which is unsigned. (Current bid $1000)

Lot #101 – Tupac Shauk “Gang Related” Screen Worn Outfit – These shirts and tie were worn by the legendary actor and rapper Tupac Shakur in the 1997 movie Gang Related. Offered here are two white, button down shirts and a gold tie worn by Tupac during the filming of “Gang Related”. The shirts are size 16 34-35 and made by Italo Mondo. “Tupak” is written on the tag of one, while “Rod”, shorthand for Tupac’s character Jake Rodriguez, is written on the tag of the second shirt. The gold tie does not have a manufacturer’s label. These items come with a COA from It’s A Wrap. (Current Bid $1000)

Lot #103 – Tupac Shakur Poetry Book Cover – While attending Tamalpais High School in Marin County, Shakur began writing the poetry that would later be included in his posthumously released book of poetry, The Rose That Grew From Concrete, in this book. On the front inside cover of the book, Tupac penned “This contains my life in the code of poetry as my life grows so shall my poetry.” The item offered here is the back cover to Tupac’s beloved poetry book. He wrote “Rock Rhymes 4 Living”, foreshadowing the path his life would take. This is written below a drawing of an eye, which Tupac often used as a substitute for the pronoun “I”. The outside of the cover is embroidered in a traditional, Japanese style. This book provides an incredible glimpse into the early life of one of the most seminal artists in American music history. Lot #104 – Tupac Shakur Signed Index Card – Tupac signed this index card in blue marker. He added the inscription “95” below his signature. This is an ultra-rare instance of Tupac’s signature, as the Death Row artist rarely signed his full name, much less added a year inscription. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Current Bid $800)

 
Lot #99 – 1992 Tupac Shakur Signed Credit Application – Presented here is a credit application filled out and signed by legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. This application, which was filled out in October of 1992, lists Tupac’s occupation as a “Producer/Writer” employed at TNT Recordings. This application was filled out just under a year after Tupac’s first album, 2Pacalypse Now, was released. A resident of the Lake Merritt area of Oakland, California at the time, Tupac lists his gross monthly income at $5,000. The information on this credit application has been printed on the paper, but Tupac signed the bottom of the application in blue pen, adding the date, “10/14/92”.
