Film industry mogul Harvey Weinstein has been fired from The Weinstein Company, a company in which he built.

The board of directors decided to let him go after explosive details about his years of sexual misconduct were made public by the New York Times.  Ex-employees and associates accused Weinstein of making unsolicited advances at them at various meet-ups around the U.S. and international.

Here’s the statement released on Sunday by the board:

“In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company – Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar – have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately.”

According to news reports, there is no financial settlement to be released to Weinstein.
