Tyler Perry’s ‘Boo 2!’ Tops Weekend Box Office

Tyler Perry’s “Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” saved the box office from being a total drab with a first weekend take of $21.7 million.

The Lionsgate sequel competed against other movies such as “Only the Brave,” “The Snowman,” “Geostorm,” and a G-rated from “Same Kind of Different as Me.”

“Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” received an A- CinemaScore, but didn’t do as good as it’s original “Boo! A Madea Halloween.” The first film grossed $73 million domestically.

“Boo 2!” features Tyler Perry, as Madea, and is set at haunted campground. While visiting the campground, Madea, Bam and Hattie must run for their lives when monsters, goblins and the boogeyman appear.
