Nasir Jones aka Nas is refuting a $1 million lawsuit against him and is asking a judge to dismiss it totally.

The lawsuit was filed by M.I, a rapper and the owner of a Nigerian label called Chocolate City. The rapper agreed to a deal with Nas in 2013, requesting that the Queensbridge never include specific words within his verse. Those words included: “M.I, Chocolate City, Nigeria, Queens, New York, Mandela, Trayvon Martin and the struggles of Africans and African Americans.” M.I. paid Nas $50,000 for the verse.

Nas claims that he did record the verse, but can’t be sued because Chocolate City already accepted it and should be blamed for their own mismanagement. Nas is asking for the case to be dismissed.
