Okay so… most of us heard the news that ADIDAS has offered Kanye West a deal worth $10 million. This amount of money could be considered small change to Kanye. But, unlike his former deal with NIKE, ADIDAS is offering royalties that will allow West to secure his child’s future and generations after.
His strong desire to create clothing, shoes, etc has caused many people to label him as being “crazy”. Kanye’s main goal is to use his relevancy to gain the respect and opportunities from the fashion industry. After two failed attempts with NIKE and Louis Vutton, ADIDAS has heard his cry and will partner up with the rapper/producer/designer on several new projects.
ADIDAS released the following statement:
“For 2014, we welcome to the adidas family one of the most influential cultural icons of this generation, Kanye West. Well known for breaking boundaries across music, film and design and partnering with our history in street wear culture and leading innovations in sport, we look forward to creating a new chapter. For the last several weeks, West has been on a radio promo tour that has fueled a lot of emotion. His most talked about radio interview is the one with Sway (“Sway In The Morning” Show) where he allowed his frustration to cause a little rift between them. From watching the video it is clear that West had a lot on his mind and was reaching his breaking point. All he want to crack open the hardened eggshell of which is the fashion industry. Sadly, the old money that runs the major fashion houses is making it difficult for him to break-in.
Sway didn’t have the answers nor does anybody else let Kanye tell it. But, one question that has been on my mind is… why doesn’t he invest his own money into building his own factory??
Not having access to these factories, is one of Kanye’s biggest gripes. I’m sure if he doesn’t have enough money to build one on his own, there’s a great possibility that investors would come in to take up the slack. Take Richard Branson for example. He’s always stepping out there and building his own (like the Virgin Galactic Spaceflight). Branson is a billionaire, however, he’s a creative just like Kanye. His ideas go beyond the average thought process. He’s innovative and he doesn’t allow anyone to stop him from accomplishing a goal.
Kanye West has the ability to do that as well. He can open up his own factory. He can manufacture his own products. Why he doesn’t understand that…I’m not sure. Yes, he’s trying to jump into the high-fashion industry quickly. This is why others believe that he hasn’t crawled enough to be expecting opportunities to be handed to him. One day he has to realize that (although he may be at the top of the music business), he’s at the bottom of the totem pole in fashion. It will some time for him to crack open those doors. However, the best way to combat the opposition is to take matters into your own hands.
Kanye…just build your own factory!
Miami Heat star, Dwyane Wade penned his first book and now it’s being developed into a television show.
The show will be called “Three The Hard Way” and will be a comedy inspired by Wade’s best-selling book. The show is written by Ben Watkins (“Burn Notice”) and is based on the NBA superstar after he gets full custody of his kids. His wide range of close friends tag along, but soon realizes that they are assisting Wade in parenting duties.
Watkins and Wade are executive producing the show along with Mike Tollin of Mandalay Sports Media and Justin Lin, Danielle Woodrow, and Troy Craig Poon through Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment.
This will be the first project out of Wade’s ZZ Productions company.
The minute you decide that you want to become a millionaire you must reflect on the inner you. Who am I? What am I passionate about? Am I a hard worker? Am I able to go beyond what is expected of me? Spends less, invests more – Rich people aren’t afraid to miss out on a new Bugatti so that they can use those funds to invest. They know the facts surrounding federal and state tax laws. This is why millionaires make big purchases as company-related property. Unlike a single-family home, wealthy people spend their money on commercial properties that can appreciate, produce a cash flow, and be able to be written-off on their taxes each year. The same goes for cars. Wealthy people invest money into items that can produce revenue. Family houses, cars, clothes, designer bags, etc can not do that.

Congratulations to singer/actress, Jennifer Hudson, on her induction to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Today, she received her Hollywood star alongside many legendary entertainers. The 32-year old singer looked stunningly beautiful in a short white dress and white pumps and recently funky crop hairdo. Her husband and son were in attendance along with Raphael Saddiq and her mentor Clive Davis. Clive Davis presented Jennifer with her star and acknowledged her fast rise to fame and undeniable talent.
“I didn’t sign her to a recording contract at the very beginning,” he recalled. “But when I saw her, I saw her screen test for Dreamgirls, I knew that she was truly a unique, original artist whose career would be nothing short of spectacular so I did sign her, then…I was stunned by her acting range, she was the real deal…and that voice. I had been privileged over the years to work with two of the greatest voices of all time: Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. I never thought I’d hear another voice to compare and yet staring me in the face was a new voice that did compare. It literally sent shivers up my spine.”
In Jennifer’s acceptance speech she shed a few tears as she spoke about her mom that passed away.
“I knew I would get emotional and I’m sure my mom is in heaven like ‘Jenny stop crying’ but now’s the time to cry mama, it is,” she said with a smile, looking up to the sky. “This is an amazing honor as we all know and I did not see this coming. I’m so honored to be here with so many that I love and I feel as though we’re all a family.”

The heartfelt speech showcased Jennifer’s sincerity and sense of gratitude. However, many people wonder why she was awarded a star over so many other great African-American entertainers who’s talent speaks for itself, but also has been in the game for much longer than her. For instance, the “Queen B” Beyonce has yet to receive her own personal star on the famous Walk of Fame. The Houston-born singer did receive one with her group Destiny’s Child. Also, her hubby Jay-Z hasn’t received his own star as well. Considering the two have became moguls in music and business, has won numerous awards, and are two of the richest entertainers in the business, you would think they’d have stars by now.
So what’s really going on in Hollywood?? Well, apparently, there are certain criteria an entertainer mus meet in order to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Symbols on the Stars
Each star has a different brass symbol representing the category in which the celebrity received his or her star. The symbols are:
1. Movie Camera – for contributions to the motion picture industry
2. Record – for contributions to the recording industry
3. Microphone – for contributions to the radio broadcast industry
4. Television – for contributions to the television broadcast industry
5. Theater Masks – for contributions to theater
Criteria for Getting a Star on the Walk of Fame
The criteria for getting a star on the Walk of Fame are fairly simple. For consideration, a nominee must:
1. Have a record of professional achievement within the nominated field.
2. Have worked in the entertainment industry for a minimum of five years.
3. Have made contributions to the community, typically through charitable activities.
The recipient must also agree to attend the dedication ceremony. In addition, a sponsorship fee of $25,000 must be paid. Non-human and fictional characters are also eligible for stars on the Walk of Fame. Kermit the Frog, Big Bird, Rin Tin Tin and Lassie all have stars.
Process for Getting a Star on the Walk of Fame
Nominations for getting a star on the Walk of Fame are announced in the entertainment trades. The nominations must be submitted by May 31 to the Walk of Fame Committee, which is division of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Although the deadline is May 31, applications are accepted year round.
Sponsors of the nominees must fill out a very simple nomination form listing the nominee’s qualifications for inclusion in the Walk of Fame. Chances are your very first job application was more complicated than this form, which you can download in PDF format HERE. Sponsors can also submit non-returnable samples of the nominee’s work.
The committee receives a few hundred nominations a year and out of these typically chooses a couple dozen inductees. Once the Walk of Fame Committee has selected a nominee, the celebrity must be approved by the Board of Directors for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles City Board of Public Works and finally the Los Angeles City Council.
The induction ceremony is presided over by honorary Hollywood mayor, Johnny Grant, and is open to the public.
HISTORICAL FACTS: The Walk of Fame began as a beautification project for the city of Hollywood in 1958. It was created by artist, Oliver Weismuller as a tribute to honor celebrities in the fields of motion pictures, television, radio, theater and music. The Walk of Fame originated with 2,500 blank stars made of pink and charcoal terrazzo. As stars were inducted into the Walk of Fame, the blank stars are removed and replaced with a star bearing the celebrities name and area of show business. The stars run down Hollywood Boulevard between Gower Street and LaBrea Avenue. They also run up Vine Street between Sunset Boulevard and Yucca Street.

Well, the controversial racial profiling incidents doesn’t seem to fade Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. He’s decided to move forward with his launch of exclusive collectors items at Barneys.
Despite the accusations made by two New Yorkers and authorities investigation against Barneys New York, Jay-Z is sticking to his end of the agreement to sale his ‘A New York Holiday’ collection at the high-end luxury store. The holiday collection will include several items and will range from approximately $30 up to $40,000. But, Hov’s prize possession will probably be the release of his first ever mens fragrance.
The ‘GOLD’ perfume will come in a white bottle with a gold cap. The scent is a mixture of white cardamom, ginger, grapefruit, blueberry, and subtle hints of bourbon vanilla, patchouli, and vetiver. GOLD will cost $30 (30 ml), $55 (50 ml), and $70 (90 ml). As do with other celebrity and well-known fragrances, hopefully, Jay-Z’s GOLD will offer holiday gift packs as well.
GOLD will make its debut in Barneys on November 20th. The fragrance will make its appearance at several other department stores on November 29th. International consumers will have to wait until 2014.
Mike Will Made-It is known for creating platinum selling beats for some of your favorite artists. Now, he has branched off into the world of film/commercial scoring with a new collaboration with Lebron James and Nike.
The Atlanta-based producer recently tried his hand at scoring a commercial. The commercial was for Miami Heat’s Lebron James’ new #StriveForGreatness campaign. The commercial is called “Training Day” and it focuses on motivating people to be dedicated and work hard for what it is they want out of life.

The opportunity to work with Lebron and the Nike team was one that Mike Will hoped to one day experience.
“This collaboration with LeBron James and Nike is all about expanding. I’ve been blessed to have so much success producing singles for other artists, and now, I’m just trying to stay creative, to start working on more diverse and different projects, like scoring commercials and movies, and executive producing albums and game or movie soundtracks. Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz album was the first project I executive produced.
“LeBron is someone that’s been supporting the music I’ve done – he saw that I’m a young cat with no boundaries to my sound. And I’m a fan of his, too. He flew me to Miami while he filmed the commercial, and while I was there I got the chance meet with him and his whole team, as well as the producers from the Nike commercial. They let me know the feel and direction they wanted and I executed. Funny thing is, I already partially had the song, ‘My Shoes,’ done, and we continued to work on it to get it to match the commercial. I reached out to John Legend got him to cut vocals, and he sent it right back. We edited the song to fit the commercial and nailed it. Everyone was excited including Lebron and now we have this Nike spot that we hope everyone enjoys. The full song, my version of ‘My Shoes,’ will be on my album, Est. In case you’re wondering, Oprah Winfrey is the only woman of color that is a bonafide billionaire. In fact, there’s a woman in Africa by the name of Isabel dos Santos that is estimated to have a net worth of $2 billion.
Isabel dos Santos is a native of Angola and has made her riches in the fields of media, telecommunications, finance, retail, and energy. She’s the daughter of Angola’s President Jose’ Edwardo dos Santos and his first wife (name unknown). She’s 39 years old and is married to millionaire offspring Sindika Dokolo. According to Wikipedia, the two married in 2002 in a lavish wedding that the movie “Coming To America” couldn’t compare to. It is said that over 800 guests were invited and it cost over $4 million (in US dollars).
After graduating from Kings College in London, Santos returned to her homeland to work under her father in the recycling business. From there, Santos ventured off into various industries on her own first starting with the trucking business. Her wealth has been contributed to her percentage of shareholder stake in several companies (i.e. Portugal’s ZON Multimedia, Banco Portugues de Investimento, Sonangol).
Despite having a fee critics who question her monopolization of the media industry in Portugal, Isabel dos Santos continues to make unprecedented strides ever by an African woman. By 2012, Santos’s had already racked in a net worth of about approx. $1.4 billion.

NIKE, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) today hosted investors at its world headquarters and announced its goal to deliver $36 billion in revenue by fiscal year 2017. The company also stated it expects to deliver revenues of $30 billion by fiscal year 2015, at the top end of its previously announced target range of $28-30 billion.
“NIKE, Inc. is designed to win. We’ve never been better positioned to capitalize on the opportunities ahead of us,” said NIKE, Inc. President and CEO Mark Parker. “We have a strong management team and we are accelerating our innovation agenda to create products and services that drive growth in the marketplace, deliver exciting retail experiences globally and expand the capabilities of our powerful supply chain.”
The Company expects NIKE Brand growth across its business portfolio of geographical business units, product types, businesses and categories. Some of the NIKE Brand fiscal 2017 growth targets highlighted at the meeting included:

Long-time friends (business and personal) Jermaine Dupri and Mariah Carey has joined forces in terms of management. As announced over the weekend during the A3C Hip Hop Festival in Atlanta, J.D. made it known that he’s taking over as manager to the iconic songbird.
After being managed for years by Randy Jackson, Mariah parted ways back in May of this year. People speculated who she would choose next to lead her in her career. So, it came as somewhat of a surprise when J.D. mentioned that he was now managing her. Could this union produce many more hits for Mariah? That is the question that some critics and Mariah’s die hard stans are having trouble answering. But, if memory serves them correctly, J.D. was responsible for “Shake It Off”, “Always Be My Baby”, and “We Belong Together” which spent 14 consecutive weeks on the Hot R&B/HipHop charts and Billboard Hot 100.
It’s evident that J.D. is particularly equipped with the necessary tools to make sure the butterfly loving Diva return to controlling the charts once again. Her next album “The Art of Letting Go” will be the first project (under this new manager/artist relationship) that everyone will get to see if the two still has that magic touch or not.
Whether you believe they will or not, you can’t help but to respect the union. The two have been friends for a very long time. Considering J.D.’s alleged financial woes, Mariah did what only a true friend would do. She brought him on so that he could have another income stream coming in. That’s what real friends do.

Want To Go To Space? Virgin Galactic’s Richard Branson & NBC Team Up for ‘Space Race’ Competition Show
Billionaire owner of Virgin Airlines, Richard Branson, is ready to take his Virgin Galactic spacecraft to the moon. But, he’s willing to fly one person for free when the first flight take place. However, there is one kick. That lucky person must become the winner on a new competition show titles “Space Race”.
Branson and television producer, Mark Burnett have partnered up to develop the competition show for NBC. The first flight to space is rumored to occur sometime in 2014. The space craft has been going through rigorous testing at a Virgin Galactic facility.
Virgin has been testing its rocket-powered space vehicle this year, with pilots reaching a height of 69,000 feet on a Sept. 5 flight that landed in the Mojave Desert near Virgin Galactic’s facility there. Virgin has said the goal is to begin commercial flights next year, with Branson and his family taking the first ride.
The first flight into space is almost booked up. Branson has already received seat reservations from 640 people totaling $80 million. Wow! So, if you are eager to take that trip into space, make sure you have no less than $125,000 to spend.
No word yet on when “Space Race” will air on NBC. If we hear of any auditions dates or when its scheduled to premiere, we will let you.
Basketball Wives star, Tami Roman is ready to help a nation of women learn how to keep a man.
Yes, Tami is dishing out advice on dating and what things to do in order to keep your man happy. The new book titled ‘Mistress 101′ is one of several projects Tami is currently working. She recently discussed the book during a radio interview with Chicago’s WGCI 107.5.
“I have a book coming. It’s called “Mistress 101″ and it’s about women and their relationships and how they can keep them and what they should do and what they should be working on. I’ve talked to mistresses. I’ve been through a relationship and I thought I was the perfect mate, but clearly there were some things within me….”
It will be interesting to read Tami’s take on women in relationships. With her direct approach and honesty, I’m sure she’s going to give it us ladies straight.
Eminem is finally venturing into the film world. Recently, he announced that his Shady Records was expanding to include a film division, Shady Films.
Shady Records is happy to announce an overall deal for content development and production with Ben Silverman’s LOUD channel in partnership parent company Electus. Through the deal, Shady Films will continue to produce the hit web series Burn Rubber as well as Elliott Wilson’s CRWN interview series, along with new programs that are already in development with Slaughterhouse and others. Britney Spears joins the list of A-list celebrity females to headline Las Vegas like Tony Braxton & Celine Dion.
“Good Morning America” reports that the pop start landed a deal to perform 48 shows for two years at Planet Hollywood. Britney will earn a reported $310,000 per show and will begin performing December 2013.
Britney has come a long way since her early days on the Mickey Mouse club with popular artists such as Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. This is a good look in my opinion especially since she just released her debut single “Work Bitch.”

In just one day, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc (the makers of Grand Theft Auto video games) stacked up over $800,000 in sales from the release of the latest GTA series 5. The series was launched on Tuesday, September 17 for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the XBox 360. GTAV launched worldwide with the exception of Brazil and Japan.

After the success of the Basketball Wives franchise, she’s looking to create another hit in the fashion accessory industry. To do that, she’s partnered up with successful jewelry designer, Simone I. Smith. Simone is the wife of legendary hip hop rapper LL Cool J. The two has embarked on this new partnership to help bring more authenticity and originality back into the jewelry game.
‘Forever Shaunie’ encompasses its namesakes style by crafting statement pieces in 18 karat gold over sterling silver and encrusted Austrian crystals. Simone stated that she wanted to create the line because she’s always admired Shaunie’s fashion sense.

The down-to-earth and super-talented emcee turned businesswoman, Queen Latifah, is set to try the day-time talk show route again. Her new show “Queen Latifah” will be a different type of talk show with a lot more interaction with the A-list guests and audience members. This time around Latifah’s mission is to bring a lot more entertainment (i.e. singing, comedy, games) to television, along with a certain level of warmth and optimism.
The show will be produced by Sony, Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment, and Will & Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment. Set to debut on September 16, Queen Latifah will be in direct competition with other shows such as Dr. Phil. Analysts are suspecting Queen Latifah will see ratings of 1.8 million viewers during this demo run. In comparison, Dr. Phil showed a 1.4 million rating during its debut airing last season. To help increase the buzz, Latifah has already taped segments with actor Will Smith and John Travolta.
With being a huge household name, Latifah is sure to bring on the viewership she needs. She’s very likable, funny, and easygoing which are all great traits to have as host of your own show.

NeNe Leakes is making a huge return to television this fall. In addition to being seen on Real Housewives of Atlanta, now fans will be able to see her in full effect on her very own show “I Dream of NeNe”. The show, which will include her husband Greg Leakes, will focus on the preparation of her 2nd wedding. If most remember, her and Greg were briefly separated during the last season (or two) of RHOA. Times had gotten so bad that divorce papers were even drawn up. Some speculate that the divorce was a stunt and that the couple only pretended to break-up for ratings sake (and for a bigger pay check). Whether it is true or not, NeNe and Greg are inseparable. They truly make a good couple. Plus, they’ve been together for years and probably knows one another better than the other. So, why get a divorce when you can renew your vows and get your own show?!!
From the previews, it looks like “I Dream of NeNe” is going to be a hoot. With her close girlfriends in tow and family issues simmering, NeNe is going to continue to excite her fans and piss off all her haters. Hate her or love her once things for sure she is very entertaining.

Cedric the Entertainment just landed a new gig. One of America’s favorite game shows will make a huge return to television on Monday, September 2nd. “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” will make is debut following in the footsteps of other noteworthy game shows (i.e. “Family Feud”).
Game shows have always employed comedians as hosts. The ability to keep the television/in-studio audience and contestants engaged is not an easy task. Therefore, other great comedians such as Steve Harvey and Wayne Brady have proven their talents and help continue to tradition within the game show structure.
Cedric the Entertainment is a funny guy with lots of television experience. He will make a great addition to ”Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” family and add the same amount of flair as its former host Regis Philbin.

Known as a fashion guru and artistic director for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs will add one more business to his multi-million dollar empire. This time, he has launched a makeup line called ”Marc Jacobs Beauty”.
Marc Jacobs Beauty will consist of over 122 products ranging from $18 to $78. The beauty products will reflect the sleekness and ultra-shine qualities that were evident on a table he has in his home. He said that this coffee table was the inspiration for the product line.
Mr. Jacobs says he was drawn to the combination of the table’s shape and finish, making it at once strong and soft. He also appreciated the simplicity of design. “When you have something that has that kind of finish that’s so particular and beautiful, it doesn’t need to be ornate,” he said. (Source)

Keyshia has partnered up with Steve Madden to bring young women edgier designs. Also, considering her humble beginnings, Keyshia’s collection will also remain affordable enough for the average 9 to 5 working woman or college student. The new line will feature leopard prints, metallic, booties, and various other styles and colors. No word yet on when the collection will actually become available in stores. But, the singer recently posted a few looks on her Instagram page while on location shooting the official ad campaign photos.

Entertainment mogul and activist, Russell Simmons, has partnered up with industry veterans Steve Rifkind and Brian Robbins to launch All Def Music. Under the Universal Music Group’s umbrella, the new record label will pioneer how up-and-coming artists are discovered, developed, and promoted. With the increasing online community relying on the internet for music, news, etc, All Def Music plan to expand how labels can operate in this technological and media induced world.
“The exponential growth of Internet-based video has created a powerful new outlet for music and music-based content, and the launch of All Def Music is a part of our broader strategy to partner with some of the most experienced entrepreneurs in media and technology to identify future stars and develop powerful content on the world’s fastest growing media platform,” wrote UMG chairman Lucian Grainge about the new business and its attendant model.

The first artists to be signed to ADM are Asher Roth and John A. Baker Jr. aka Spoken Reasons. Roth, who is still on a mission to solidify his image/identity in rap, will be apart of a newly unscripted music-themed show called “Lemonade.” Although Spoken Reasons has one of the top most subscribed pages on Youtube (with 1.7 million subscribers), no word has been made as to in what capacity his talent will be used on the ADM label.
Mosunmola “Mo” Abudu, a television host, took her expertise to the next level by creating a television network that will dispel the myths and false interpretations of the continent of Africa.
Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife TV, just like Oprah Winfrey’s OWN, will focus on the positives and good qualities of Africa. As a television host, Abudu has had the pleasure of interviewing notable individuals in and out of politics (i.e. Hillary Clinton, R. Kelly, fashion designer Diane Von Furstenburg). But, it wasn’t until a trip to London that sparked her interest in starting a network. It was during that trip that she decided to ask random people what’s the first thing that comes to mind when the word “Africa” is mentioned. She was hurt to find out that most of the comments were about the darker side of the continent (the economically challenged side in which we see on television).
This incident fueled Abudu’s passion to want to change Africa’s reputation. Therefore, EbonyLife TV network will tackle the problem by airing programs that highlight the “better” aspects of the continent. Programs will cater to women and everyday life situations of the middle class. Topics will cover skin bleaching, sex, travel tips, etc. EbonyLife will be available in mostly each country on the continent.
One program in particular is Sistaz!. According to TheGrio.com, the show is about two Greek -Nigerian sisters and a British-born Nigerian friend who check into the Eko Hotel for a holiday reunion and rediscover the passion of sisterhood and the vibrant city of Lagos. “It helps show that you can go to Africa for a holiday, you can go to Nigeria on holiday, you can go to Lagos” and enjoy a vacation, Abudu said of the much-maligned Nigerian financial capital that is much improved since the country transitioned from military dictatorship to civilian rule in 1999.”
Additional programming will showcase Africa’s music scene, up-and-coming fashion designers, entrepreneurs, etc.

In case you are an athlete and need some additional help with excersises and technique, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has a new app to get you started. The new app called “Dwyane Wade Driven” provides customized training programs and videos to downloaders. The app went on sale Monday. The same day Wade and his teammates celebrated their victory over the San Antonio Spurs by parading the downtown streets of Miami.
“It shows people ways to work out, a lot of different ways to work out, whether it’s basketball drills or not,” Wade told The Associated Press. “A lot of people work out at home. A lot of people don’t have access to a gym. A lot of people don’t have trainers. So it’s kind of like I’m the personal trainer for basketball and fitness, and I’ll show them a lot of things I do with my body and for my body.”
The app cost $3.99 and includes basketball drills, fitness routines, and charts to track your progress.
