B.O.B has seen what this industry has to offer. From the mixtape circuit to the major label backing and worldwide acclaim, Bobby Ray has made his mark in hip hop. Yet, he hasn’t become as big as he may want to be. Nor is he making the money he may desire. Oh, he is getting paid. However, there is always that desire for more. And that desire for more has led to the conception of his new album, Underground Luxury.
Let me get this out the way once and for all: this is a good album filled with a multitude of cuts serving different purposes. However, it isn’t as great as it could be. More on that later.
The motivation for his project starts right off the bat with “All I Want”, the song expressing all the material and carnal desires that he has. From there, we get into similar tracks like “Headband” and “Ready”. A lot of this album will have a sound that makes itself available for club and radio spins. Any listener can see that from the inclusion “We Still In This Bitch”. Even on slower tempo tracks like “Back Me Up”, the overall flow of the album is about “getting to the money and success”.
And to be honest, I can’t fault him for that.
Even throughout the money chasing, paper stacking, cheeba smoking, and booty slapping, there are those tracks that are based on his inner thoughts and observances. “One Day” reflects over his trial and tribulations that allowed him to focus on his goals and aspirations. “Nobody Told Me” allows Bobby Ray to go over the lessons that he learned from his musical pursuits. Even with “Forever”, he realized the mortality and his adversaries over some bombastic production. Let it be known that B.O.B does take time to recognize where he been and how he got there.
The drawback that many listeners will have for this album is that, through it all, many want B.O.B to “go in more”. Before he became a signed artist, B.O.B would demonstrate lyrical gymnastics and fluid melodies over tracks. The melodies are intact on this album. However, many will say that his lyrical dynamics have taken a backseat. In short, people will want to complain that he isn’t lyrically smashing the tracks like he used to.
At the end of the day, Underground Luxury is highly listenable and actually a good album. However, he still has a chance to make that “great” album. The one thing he can do is start going harder on the tracks lyrically. It is always the lyrical content over dope production that separates the top tier from the rest. Regardless, Underground Luxury will impress those that want to ride around with banging beats and lyrics about getting the luxury while in the underground.
B.o.B.’s Underground Luxury dropped yesterday (Dec. 17). This is the third studio album for the Grand Hustle artist. In conjunction with his album debut, B.o.B. premiered a new video via Worldstar Hip Hop – a rock-inspired song called “Paper Route”.

December 6th, 2013
As I strolled into the venue extra early (before most people), I peeped the inside of the venue. Rose Bar is big enough to have a chill event like this. With enough space to fit a few people, but not too big so the situation becomes overwhelming. The bar is for events. Comfy seating and serene candles lit up the place to make it seem subdued. I must say that Rose Bar can feel relaxed when necessary.
Once the people started coming through, I began to notice familiar ATL musical players and mainstays. Gorilla Zoe rolled through in his black attire and iced out chain. TJ of TJ’s DJs made his rounds. And we would all expect Playboy Tre and Scotty ATL to show up on the scene. As time progressed, it was sizing up to be a noble night for ATL hip hop.
Even more interesting is how people presented themselves. Many of the patrons were smartphone/camera ready for the sake of social media patronizing. Between the plethora of Lebrons, Oreo Jordans, meggings (men leggings) and sagging pants with name brand belt buckles, you had people actually enjoying themselves. Then again, it would be pretty hard to not have at least a decent night when there was an open bar. Eventually, the marijuana smoke hit the air and it was going to be a musical night. This all made way for the grand entrance of B.O.B himself.
As soon as B.O.B stepped into the place, there was no time wasted on greeting the man of the hour. As I took pictures for people, spilling some of my cranberry-and-vodka down my sleeve in the process, I noticed that most people showed nothing but love. Even the scantly clad-body-paint women were in great spirits. After working the rounds in the bar, B.O.B began announcing his assortment of songs for his upcoming album (Underground Luxury).
From what was given, many will see that B.O.B is more concerned about “making good music”:
- “All I Want” – this track seemed to have plenty of integrity to it. Yet, it is meant to be a “true to materialism” type of song. More than anything, you will get to hear his voice recorded.
- “One Day” – with B.O.B behind the boards and DJ Toomp providing the drums, the man formally known as Bobby Ray reminisces on his days of being raised. Candler Road has helped make his personality. Now, he just needs to find that balance.
- The Future assisted “Ready” smells like a club banger.
- “Back Me Up” – pretty hard track. That is all I need to say about it.
- “Wide Open” – This track is something for the ladies. And if anyone wonders anything, they should rest assured that the ladies love this particular song.
- “Cranberry Mohawk” – as dreamy as the soundscapes became on this song, they lyrics by Bobby were still raw.
Regardless of the amazement of people seeing Wiz Khalifa in his Pyrex gear, it can be said that B.O.B wants to show the world his efficiency. Many times in the past, B.O.B had to worry about making a “balanced album” still close to his mixtape roots. After the first two major releases, there has been an industry concern of Bobby keeping it “Decatur” and not being so “pop friendly”. What B.O.B worked to do was have an album that is honest, street wise, and hard hitting all in one. For the most part, Underground Luxury will be just fine.

B.o.B.’s next album Underground Luxury is on it’s way.
The good folks in his camp sent over an exclusive look into the ‘Road To Underground Luxury’. In the short documentary, B.o.B talks about the road he’s taken to get where he is. But, the catch twenty-two of his success is the lack of enthusiasm he now has for the whole lively hood of being in the industry. He’s now at the point in which he “no longer give a f*ck!” So, he’s ready to let people in on what being the rap game really means.
Are you ready?

Trinidad James, Rich Homie Quan, Young Dro, & Others Repped The City Hard @ Birthday Bash 18 [Exclusive Photos & Vids]
The whole city of Atlanta and surrounding states came out in thousands to the hottest concert of the summer. Radio One & Hot 107.9 kicked off their 18th annual Birthday Bash this past weekend. Over 30,000 people where in attendance inside the Philips Arena where the industry’s hottest artists (and new artists) set the stage on fire. Southside Atlanta artist 2 Chainz was the headliner and gained many praises via social networks for his set. Wale, Meek Mill, French Montana, and Drake made special appearances that took BB18 way over the top. But, the crowd showed major hometown love to their favorite artists who were raised in the Black Mecca of the South: B.o.B., Rich Homie Quan, Rocko, Young Dro, Shawty Lo, and Trinidad James.
Here are a few exclusive photos and video coverage of Birthday Bash 18:

Grand Hustle’s B.o.B. stopped byDJ Tony Touch’s “Toca Tuesdays” in New York recently. While there he dropped off his single “Headband” and ,of course, spit a couple bars. Check out the video to see why B.o.B remains in this game…
You can catch Toca Tuesdays each week on Shade 45 from 8pm to 12am EST.
S/O to Q. Shepard for the video!
Ok…it sounds like B.o.B. is rejuvenating our crazy obsession with whistling on songs. In his new song, “Head Bang” he’s “whistling dixie” as he talks about his infatuation with a particular young lady. Off of his upcoming Underground Luxury album, B.o.B. enlists ATL rapper 2 Chainz to add his special sauce to the track. As confederate as the whistling sounds, the track is perfect for the clubs. If you’re doing the two-step or backing that a** up, it doesn’t matter. Everyone will still be able to get their boogie on.
Take a listen to B.o.B.’s new joint below and let us know what you think.
On July 9, the world better get ready. Although, it’s been a long road for Ciara in this music business, she’s been able to maintain her relevance and push out a few good songs. Well now she’s back working with LA Reid and is ready to give us all she got.
“Body Party” her latest release garnered quite a buzz in the past few months. The ’90′s throwback tune is a classic amongst the Atliens who partied in local hot spots like Club 559, XS, Sharon Showcase, and Jelly Beans. So, it was clearly a no brainer to include her boo Future and Grand Hustle’s B.o.B to the “Rich-mix” (since both emcees are from Atlanta). Take a listen to the remix below:
For what we know now, Ciara’s self-titled album will feature collaborations from Nicki Minaj and Future. Production credits will feature joints from Mike Will Made It, Rodney Jerkins, The Underdogs, and others. You can pre-order a copy of the album on iTunes now.
Lately, there’s been several “gangs” or label crews popping up out of no where. Well, Grand Hustle is the next up to do so with their pack of emcees called Hustle Gang.
Their first compilation project, G.D.O.D. (Get Dough Or Die), was released to the masses yesterday. Headed up by The King, Clifford “T.I.” Harris, G.D.O.D. features most of the top tier rappers affiliated to the Grand Hustle label: Trae The Truth, Young Dro, Chip, B.o.B., Iggy Azalea, Michel’le, Travi$ Scot, Doe B, Big Kuntry, Shad Da God, Yung Booke, Spodee, Kris Stephens and Mac Boney. However, several familiar names appear on the new mixtape like Lil Duval, French Montana, Meek Mill, Mystikal, and Problem.
The overall mixtape is pretty impressive. The Hustle Gang is definitely trying to make a statement with this one…lyrically their team can spit with the best of them. With the inclusion of several production picks that seem out of the norm for Grand Hustle, G.D.O.D. is solid enough for a download and several listens.
So, listen to the free mixtape below and let us know what you think!
The head honcho of Grand Hustle better known as T.I. has released the video for his song “Memories Back Then.”
The song was originally recorded for T.I.’s recently released album Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head but didn’t meet sample clearance requirements in time for the album’s release. But we all know one monkey doesn’t stop the King of the South’s show and he has moved forward with releasing the track with a different beat. “Memories Back Then” will now serve as the lead single for the upcoming Hustle Gang compilation mixtape ‘G.D.O.D. The Introduction’.
Even though the Atlanta bred rapper can hold his own, he ups the ante on this track with the added features. Kendrick Lamar and Grand Hustle’s B.O.B lend their lyrical skills to the track while R&B newcomer Kris Stephens showcases her vocal talents on song’s chorus.
Besides who’s actually on the song, the content and message of “Memories Back Then” rings loud and should make a lot of ladies think about the position they play in men’s lives. Check out the video below and let us know what you think about the video and the song itself.

Atlanta rapper B.o.B, first off, does not want to be categorized. He recently went to his Twitter to air out his feelings about being placed in a box. He’s not a street rapper. He’s not a mainstream rapper. He’s not even a conscious rapper. He’s just B.o.B…the ARTIST.
After his last release, Strange Clouds, B.o.B has been doing what he does best…blessing tracks with his sick flow. If you need more Bobby Ray in your life, tomorrow (Thursday) he will release a free mixtape, F*ck Em We Ball. The mixtape features the new single thats killing the airwaves, ”Still In This B*tch” with T.I. and Juicy J. But in addition, FEWB will feature verses from Spodee, Playboy Tre, Iggy Azalea, Mac Miller, and Snoop Lion. Production notables on the project include Mike Will, Jameson, Sonny Digital, and B.o.B.

Despite his under the radar persona, Grand Hustle’s crossover artist B.o.B. knows how to maintain his place in the spotlight. He repped his hometown ATL and T.I.’s camp undeniably during his cypher performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Now, he is gaining urban radio love with his recent release ‘We Still In This Bitch’. The hard-hitting street track, produced by Mike Will Made It, features verses from T.I. and Juicy J (Three Six Mafia). Check it out…
‘We Still In This Bitch’ will appear on B.o.B. upcoming mixtape “Fuck’em We Ball”. FWB drops Nov 15th.
Off of his most recent Strange Clouds album, B.o.B drops his latest video “Out of My Mind”. One of the standout tracks from the album the Benny Boom-directed video features YMCMB’s Nicki Minaj.

What you think about B.o.B’s new video, “Out of My Mind”?
B.o.B calls on his A-town rap peer Andre 3000 for his latest project off his Strange Clouds album. “Play The Guitar” is a cool country music-inspired track (hence the guitar). Even the video is quite interesting to the eye. Check out the video below:

B.o.B’s decided to keep it “straight ATL” on the remix to ”Strange Clouds”. To do that, he called on Grand Hustle Boss, T.I. and CTE’s bossman Young Jeezy.

“Strange Clouds” jumped off for ATL’s own B.o.B in major way. Now, he’s back with the next single from the EPIC (Every Play Is Crucial) mixtape. “How Bout Dat” features Trae Da Truth and Future. T.I., EightBall, and comedian Lil Duval make cameos in the video, directed by Gabriel Hart.

B.O.B tends to be confusing. Many want to write him off as “pop” and commercial. However, The Adventures of Bobby Ray misled people to believe that he was just commercial rubbish. It isn’t that the album lacks potency. It was just too “Bobby Ray” for those that wanted more “B.O.B”. Many sales and shows later, E.P.I.C. is similar to his No Genre mixtape: it shows a more refined and complete sound.
Don’t be fooled: B.O.B still holds on to the “pop” aesthetic that has garnered him mass appeal. “Wrong”, which features Spodee, includes a sung chorus that fits melodically with heavy synths and piano stabs. “Guest List” comes with Roscoe Dash adding his magic to a track that screams “radio mix show”. “What Are We Doing” has a lot of rap with a lot of singing. “New York, New York” even has a sung chorus. Listeners need to understand that B.O.B will keep that “radio” aspect to himself.
Yet and still, B.O.B comes with tracks that get lyrically relentless and poetically potent. “High” makes references to being pop, making money, and making music to make the most out of life. “Boom Bap”, with its sparse production, lets T.I., B.O.B, and Mos Def rip through the English language. “5 On The Kush” even goes in harder with its soul sample and trunk rattling nature. Thus, there is no opportunity to mistake kindness for weakness; B.O.B can spit with the best of them.
E.P.I.C. is everything the title says: Every Play Is Crucial. Every song may not be liked by everyone. However, you can’t find fault in his energy or execution. People may have qualms with his music. After this, it may be time to decide if you ride with him or not. B.O.B
is going to make “B.O.B music” whether you like it or not.

The good folks over in the B.o.B camp sent over this hot new track, 5 on The Kush. As if it was on cue, this track was leaked on B.o.B’s birthday Nov 15. Last night, the 23 yr old celebrated his birthday big willie style at Wild Bills in Atlanta. We wonder if he was on that kush last night. lol
Regardless, birthdays are always worth it! Check out the hot new single which features Big K.R.I.T and Bun-B:

What do you think????
Grammy nominated artist, B.O.B., recently surprised a Delta flight crew and their passengers with a brief performance of his hit “Airplanes”.
In 2010, Kanye West was the first to do an impromptu performance on a flight. But for 2011, B.O.B. added a little extra flavor with background music and all.
