YG’s long anticipated My Krazy Life drops March 18. Pre-order the album now on iTunes!
Cash Money Records and Young Money’s rise as two of the most powerful labels in hip hop is undeniable. Young Money, for example, is the headquarters for Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga – three of the most successful young artists to represent hip hop in the last 5 years. With bossman Lil Wayne’s impactful career and their domination of the craft, it’s obvious that they will not let up any time soon.
To prove that, Young Money announced that it will be releasing a compilation album on March 11. “Young Money: Rise of an Empire” will feature Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Gudda Gudda, Shanell, Christina Milian and other artists on their roster.
“This compilation is a very special release for the label,” Cortez Bryant, Young Money’s COO, said in a release. “‘We Are Young Money’ helped launch the careers of our first generation of acts with Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. Even though we’ve been honored with accolades as a company, our hunger hasn’t diminished or dwindled. We’re hungrier than ever, and we’re still building.
“That goes hand-in-hand with the title ‘Young Money: Rise Of An Empire.’ We’re not going anywhere. We don’t plan on stopping — ever. Our goal is the expansion of this Empire with the next generation of kings and queens ruling.”
“There’s nothing like it when the whole family gets together in the studio,” Lil Wayne added. “YMCMB is stronger than ever, and everybody was truly on fire. We’re all blessed to be a part of this incredible Empire as it continues to thrive. I can’t wait for what’s next. Keep watching.”
To set the tone, yesterday they released a new single “We Alright”. The track features their newcomer Euro, Birdman, and Lil Wayne. Unfortunately, the label ganked it from the internet. When we find it, we’ll most definitely share it.
Okay, here’s a nice groove by Busta Rhymes. Accompanied by Q-Tip, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne, Busta take us back to the days when music felt good and everyone at the party had a grand time.
Take a listen to “Thank You” below:
Although we’ve been hearing the whispers that there could possibly be a Hot Boyz reunion in the works, there hasn’t been any music that has surfaced as of yet. But, to help us get visually prepared to what may come, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz got them all together for his latest video “Used 2.”
2 Chainz took a trip to New Orleans to film his next single off of the B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time album. Turk, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Mannie Fresh rounded up, in what seems to be a happy moment, in the streets of the N.O. The locals all came out in support of Chainz and the Hot Boyz and didn’t forget about their former member B.G. In the video, you’ll see people rocking their FREE B.G. shirts.
It looks like this was one of those better times for the Hot Boyz whose dealt with money disagreements, splits, and jail time. Shout out to 2 Chainz for making this historical moment happen!

The fifth installment in Lil Wayne’s Dedication mixtape series is finally here. One of the most anticipated projects of the year, made its way to the internet yesterday. However, the opinions of Wayne’s mixtape has been mixed. While some believe the New Orleans emcee has lost his way, the die hard fans think he is still one of the best to ever do it. But, the content is lacking - many critics believe. His constant talk about sex and p***y and the usage of uncomplicated metaphors (during a time when lyricism is back in the forefront), simply, is not reflective of growth.
Honestly, in my opinion, Lil Wayne has made his mark in music. He’s shown many rappers how to remain relevant in the music business for years. From the image changes to his highly successful The Carter albums, Weezy has proven what he can do. Now, he’s in a place where he can sit back and watch his artists generate income for him. That’s a nice place to be in.
So, does Wayne really need to work that hard and/or continue to prove that he can rap? Not really.
In case you haven’t heard Dedication 5 mixtape, here you go:
What’s your thoughts on the new ‘Dedication 5′ mixtape?
On August 25th, immediately following the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Cash Money Records will hosts a private VIP party in honor of people suffering from diabetes. This year, they are donating proceeds from their event to the American Diabetes Association. Lil Wayne and Birdman are hosting the event and will be bringing a few of their CMR and YMCMB artists along – Drake, DJ Khaled, Tyga, Busta Rhymes, Paris Hilton, and others.
We’ve had the honor of supporting with the American Diabetes Association through United Health Care last year at our Annual Turkey Drive and we’re looking forward to collaborating with ADA directly this time around, and together we’re giving Young Money/Cash Money Records VMA after-party a really wonderful purpose. N.O.R.E. has released some new music for the Good Belt Gang project. The song, which features Lil Wayne, Birdman, is a smooth joint for the playas out there. It’s rather comical. The fellas let it be known that they despise being kissed on the lips after their girl finished serving them down below. LOL
To our surprise, Ja Rule spits a verse too. He hasn’t lost much and sound like he’s brushed up a little bit while doing his bid in jail. Glad he’s out now and back to the music.
Check out the new track “She Tried” below:
Recently, her name has been coming up in various outlets as the next “it” girl. But, who is she exactly? After doing a little research, this fresh face is Lil Wayne’s newest protégé and she’s now a member of YMCMB.
Chanel West Coast. Her latest project, which released in early July, justifies the buzz she’s been receiving by the public. “Now You Know” is a mixtape with many well-known features and heavy influences of the hip-hop, pop, and R&B culture. As the self-proclaimed number one fan of the late Tupac Shakur, Chanel definitely has engulfed herself into the world of rap and is about to claim her spot. Not as just another white female rapper, but as emcee and singer with a style of her own that has the ability to surpass some of the others in her lane.
Although the mixtape is graced by only one producer, Rich Skillz, Robin Thicke, French Montana, Honey Cocaine, Snoop Dogg, and a few others lent their talents to the newcomer. If you haven’t checked it out, it is worth the listen. She gives you 18 dope tracks that can easily be played down South and any other environment where hip-hop are appreciated.

The twist to the video is the back-in-the-day scenes in which the fellas let us see what life would’ve been like in 1996…with the same friends that’s been there since day one.

Lately there’s been a rash of artists under scrutiny for their lyrics and artistic expression. Although many might argue that artists should have the right to say what they want, corporations have a slightly different point of view. The most recent case involves Lil Wayne, rapper and CEO of YMCMB. The New Orleans born emcee was dropped from PepsiCo as an endorser of their Mountain Dew soda product. The reason was due to an offensive reference made about Emmett Till, a young man brutally murdered in Mississippi during the civil rights era.
Wayne’s offensive lyrics was recorded on Future’s “Karate Chop” song. Due to the widespread negative press and disgust by Emmett Till’s family, PepsiCo decided to end their relationship with Lil Wayne. As such with Miami-rapper Rick Ross who, also, was dropped by a major corporation for his drug and rape reference in “U.E.O.N.O.” Reebok severed their ties with the Maybach Music Group CEO, costing Ross several millions in endorsement money [READ HERE].
The recent string of events proves that there’s no such thing as “freedom of speech” to corporations. The “bottom-line” in revenue dollars is what companies are most concerned with. For Reebok and PepsiCo, the impact of the negative press translated into a decline in sales. But also, the offensive and derogatory lyrics could have potentially tarnished their brands. Words can be deadly. Yet, many artists fail to realize this and continue to degrade our women, glorify drugs and guns, and/or promote domestic violence. At some point, artists should be held accountable for what they say. Lyrics not only affect a company’s ability to sell products and make money, but they also confirm this negative perception of people and communities that are already oppressed.
At the end of the day, freedom of speech hurts us and the corporations. It shows that some artists aren’t versatile enough to talk about other things. Also, it shows companies that taking a risk by hiring an artist to endorse a product may not always be the best thing. You can make millions or easily lose millions. Therefore, it is certain that the way corporations issue endorsement deals in the future will take on a different approach. Don’t be surprised if stricter clauses are incorporated in these agreements.
What do you think? Do you think artists should watch what they say in songs? Let us know we’d like to know how you feel.
It’s been a minute since there’s been visuals released off of 2 Chainz debut album, B.O.A.T.S.. Tour dates or numerous features on other projects may be the reason for the delay. Nonetheless, 2 Chainz continues to shine and standout amongst other rappers who are more seasoned than him. Whether it is the flamboyantly strange outfits or crazy lyrics, you can’t deny his uniqueness.
He’s stated on Twitter that he’s working on his second album. B.O.A.T.S. was pretty good so we’re sure he’s going to up the ante on this next one with better production, diverse features, and more lyrical skill. Until then, he’s giving fans more videos to tie us over. Take a look at his latest two videos “Like Me” which features a cameo from label partner Richie Cap 1, and “Yuck” featuring Lil Wayne.
DJ Khaled is prepping for the upcoming release of his album Suffering from Success. To warm his fans up Khaled has released a new single called “No New Friends.” The new joint includes features from industry heavyweights Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. The track was produced by Boi-Ida and Noah “40” Shebib.
Listen to “No New Friends” below and let us know if you’re feeling it or not in the comments.
French Montana has been pumping out hits for a minute now. All the hard work and constant rotation on the radio has prepared him for his official debut album release. Due out on May 21, Excuse My French contains 18-tracks with a boat load of features from some of his closest buddies in music. Will French put the magic touch on this new project? Some speculate that he can’t hold his own without accompanied features. Regardless if he does or not, French may surprise his skeptics and put out some decent work that’s worthy of a listen. We’ll see.

It seems like seizures aren’t the only problems constantly surfacing in Lil Wayne’s life.
According to reports, a Miami-based attorney recently was awarded a $1.2 million judgment against the YMCMB CEO. The monies awarded are to pay for the legal fees acquired by attorney David Goldstein. Goldstein represented plaintiffs who claimed that Lil Wayne didn’t properly execute a contract in place. The lawsuit was brought forth in Los Angeles and thus the original judgment of $2.2 million was awarded there. But, in a recent twist of events, Goldstein is now seeking that the judgment be moved to Miami, Florida.
Apparently, Lil Wayne or his company hasn’t paid any of the $3.4 million judgment. So, Goldstein is petitioning to have the suit domesticated to Miami-Dade county so that Weezy’s personal assets can be seized until full payment is made.
Goldstein has his sights on Lil Wayne’s sprawling $11.6 million mansion in the private community of La Gorce Island. In addition to rapper’s home, Goldstein also wants to seize the black Bugatti Veyron Wayne owns. Damn!
SMH…we’ll keep you posted as this story develops.
OK Nicki!!! I’m digging this joint.
Nicki Minaj dropped her new video for “High School” which features her bossman Lil Wayne. The video is a nice sunny vid, perfect segway into the spring/summer season. In the midst of a little action, the chemistry between Wayne and Nicki is very prevelant. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think they were a bonafide couple. LOL
Anyhoo, check out Nicki’s new video below and let me know what you think.
Even though Lil Wayne has been a bit under the weather, that’s still not throwing a monkey wrench in his plans to let the show go on.

One thing about Birdman, he knows how to creep up on you with new music.
His newest joint “Tapout” is an ode to those with that bomb sex game. You know the kind that’s so good, you can’t go any longer…you just want to “tap out”. Well, Birdman has the mood music to go right along with that explosive night of pleasure. However, he brought along his newly formed ‘Rich Gang’ which consists of Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Mack Maine, and Future. Not sure if all of them were needed on this joint. But, it’s cool nevertheless.
Check it out for yourself below…
“Tapout” will be featured on Birdman’s Rich Gang: Flashy Lifestyle compilation album. It is due out May 21.
Last week, the official tracklist for Lil Wayne’s ‘I Am Not A Human Being II’ was officially announced. We mentioned that the YMCMB gang will make appearances and others like Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Gunplay, and Soulja Boy. Well, apparently 30-sec snippets of each song has been made public. In case you’re wondering if Wayne’s next album will live up to the hype, take a listen below…
While his single with 2 Chainz ”Rich As F–k” gets major rotation in the streets, Lil Wayne may have a few more bangers on his upcoming album. ‘I Am Not a Human Being II’ is set to be released on March 26. Hopefully, since the lable has released his official tracklist this means there won’t be any push backs. If all goes well, his fans can expect a pretty solid album from the looks of the line-up.
On the new album, Weezy lovers can expect to new joints with Nicki Minaj, Boo, Gudda Gudda, Soulja Boy, Gunplay, Juicy J, and Big Sean. Other familiar tracks we won’t mind listening to again, “B-tches Love Me” (feat. Drake & Future) and ”No Worries” (feat. Detail) are also on the new album. Check out the full tracklist below:
2. Curtains (Feat. Boo)
3. Days and Days (Feat. 2 Chainz)
4. Gunwalk (Feat. Gudda Gudda)
5. No Worries (Feat. Detail)
6. Back to You
7. Trigger Finger (Feat. Soulja Boy)
8. Beat the Sh*t (Feat. Gunplay)
9. Rich As F*uk (Feat. 2 Chainz)
10. Trippy (Feat. Juicy J)
11. Bi**hes Love Me (Feat. Drake and Future)
13. God Bless Amerika
14. My Homies Still (Feat. Big Sean)
15. Lay You Down (Feat. Nicki Minaj)
Will Lil Wayne keep us interested with this one? That’s the question many of his fans are wondering. As he dives into the fashion world (TrukFit) and skateboarding, some folks aren’t certain that his lyrical content and mass appeal are still holding weight. Hopefully, ‘I Am Not a Human Being II’ will prove critics wrong and show that he’s still one of the best in the game.
Not sure what to think of this track. The beat, produced by Jahlil Beats, is kinda dope. But, Wayne’s “chant” flow sounds a bit lackadaisical and awkward. Guess it’s a good thing this was just a mixtape cut (on DJ Stevie J’s ‘The Appreciation Vol 5′).
Check it out and let us know what you think…
After becoming a rapper at the ripe young age of 8, Lil Wayne (who’s 30 years old now) recently expressed his doubts of ever rapper again. In a sit down with MTV’s Sway, the Young Money CEO says he’s no longer feeling the love for his career choice. With other business ventures in the works (i.e. TrukFit), his focus is now driven elsewhere and he wants to devote the time and energy to those things.
When Sway asked about the sonic makeup of “Human Being II,” the rapper compared the work to what should be the next chapter in his most famous musical franchise. “It’s like a Carter V,” he said.
So why not just retitle Human “Being II” to fit the mood? “Because I know y’all want me around for a little bit, and ‘Carter V’ is my last album,” Weezy revealed. “Man, I’ve been rappin’ since I was 8 years old. I’m 30 now, man. That’s a long time, man.”
“Human Being II” will be released on Feb. 19, and after that, it’s unclear when “Tha Carter V” will come or if there will be another album between the two? What’s clear is that Wayne has other interests outside the studio, most notably his love for skateboarding and his new TrukFit clothing line. “When I love to do something, I’m fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that ‘it,’ ” he said.
“I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14. I’m 30 now. Thank God I haven’t put out an album that hasn’t went platinum,” he said. “To just keep it goin’ like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I’m fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great.”
So, is Weezy making the right decision? Some may feel like it’s good to stop when you are on top. But, others like Jay-Z continues to put out great music despite his age. Lil Wayne may just be at a place where he wants to redirect his ambition. Also, this could give listeners a break from hearing him on damn near every song on the radio. Maybe this is another reason why he’s ready to give up music. Too much of something can become overwhelming. Nevertheless, Lil Wayne has enough money and top artists to sustain a long period of hibernation. He has Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and the other YMCMB artists to sit back and parlay on.
But at this moment, he’s gearing up for I Am Not A Human Being II. The first single, “No Worries” is smash hit that’s been blasting in all the clubs. Check out the video premier below:
Kelly Rowland recently released another song for the grown and sexy better known as “Ice.” The song is the lead single of her upcoming album Year of the Woman which is scheduled for release early next year.
Well to add even more uumph to the song is a hot, heavy and sexually charged video to go along with it. Let’s just say there lots of ice rubbing and freak me down dance moves popping off in this one. Even the video’s director, Matthew Rolston said, “It’s a very, very, very, very sexy video!” Oh and don’t bother waiting for Lil Wayne whose featured on the song to appear because he never will. But don’t worry, his verse is still there. Check out the video below…
What do you think???
This past weekend, Young Money boss Lil Wayne made his debut as a guest correspondent on ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown”. His feature of the moment granted him the opportunity to go one on one with 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss. During the interview Moss talks about his retirement and return to the NFL, his personality and what he’s learned. Check out Lil Wayne and Randy chat it up below…
T.I. is aggressively amping up the promo efforts for his next album, Trouble Man. The second single released from the project, “Ball” features Lil Wayne. The video was shot in Wayne’s old stomping grounds New Orleans. With a track that truly complimented the environment, T.I. took us back to the 90′s club scene with the “do it baby stick it…” flow. LoL…
Check out the video below:
What are your thoughts about T.I.’s new song, “Ball”?
Every other week it seems as if the YMCMB family multiplies to some degree. Next up to be added to their roster is the Michigan-based production team The Olympicks. Producers Knoxville, Flawless, BP, and JayFab make up the team.
No stranger to the industry, The Olympicks have already their share of success creating hits for artists such as Rick Ross, 2Chainz, Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar. If you’re wondering what made the YMCMB fam picked them? Let us not forget not forget to mention that The Olympicks prior to the deal earned gold and platinum plaques for their contributions to Lil Wayne’s “I Am No A Human Being” and Rick Ross’ “Teflon Don.”
Olympick group member Knoxville says of the team and their new deal, “We’re really excited to be a part of the whole movement. We are ready to make history with Baby and the whole YMCMB team.”
We think it’s safe to safe that the YMCMB fam can now be considered an army, but more power to them. They say there’s power in numbers, so we say to them…keep upping them STACKS!
The popular MAGIC Convention went underway last week in Las Vegas. The convention was the stage for urban fashion brands to promote new products and network with merchandisers and distributors. Along with other celebrities promoting their fashion lines, Lil Wayne and his new Trukfit brand was on deck to reveal what it has in store. But in addition to his clothing line, Wayne revealed to MTV News his upcoming skateboarding shoe with SUPRA.
“I was just rocking them when I was skating and stuff and when I got real cool with the homey [professional skateboarder] Stevie Williams, it was kinda like a plug from him,” said Wayne. “He [Williams] been with SUPRA. He just let them know. Even before I was skating, I was rocking SUPRAs before I even knew what they were. It was just a mutual respect on each end so it was just bound to happen.”

What are your thoughts on Lil Wayne’s new endeavours?
Trey Songz is doing just what he said he would do, bringing his fans another popping single from his upcoming album Chapter V. The song entitled “Hail Mary” features two of hip-hop’s heavies, Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne. The video for the song which will feature Kevin Hart is coming soon [pic below]. Listen to the song below and let us know if you’re digging it or not…
Keyshia Cole is prepping her next project in a major way. For her forth coming album, Woman to Woman LP, she’s enlisted rapper Lil Wayne to set fire to her first single, “Enough of No Love”. The track goes inside of the mind of a fed up woman whose decided that enough is enough. The Benny Boom directed video will, hopefully, take viewers on a new ride with Keyshia as she continues to carve her space in R&B music.
In anticipation for the video, here’s a short preview of what’s to come. Check it out:
Are you ready for Keyshia Cole’s new album Woman to Woman??
