Who knew that musical talent runs in the Minaj household. Apparently, Nicki Minaj isn’t the only one than belt out a note or two.
Carol Minaj recently posted a brief audio of her new song “God’s Been Good”. The gospel song is reported to be included on a full album project, stated to be released sometime this year.
If you want to check out Ms. Minaj’s songbird abilities, listen to the snippet below:
What do you think? Does Carol Minaj have a shot at musical stardom?

Celebrity hair stylist, Terrance Davidson, has filed a $30 million lawsuit against rapper Nicki Minaj. The news of the lawsuit is believed to be the first of its kind as it pertains to infringement of intellectual property. No one has every sued for wig/hair designs.
Davidson was hired in 2010 to be Minaj’s go-to guy for all of her big colorful wigs, which helped shaped her stardom into what it has become. But, Davidson’s says that before she fired him as an stylist in 2013, the two struck a deal to enter into the wig-making business.
Davidson claims that Minaj entered into the business and began selling his custom wig designs without his consent or knowledge. He says that she has went on and profited millions off the wigs and he hasn’t seen a dime of the proceeds.
“I actually hand-made these wigs,” Davidson said. “For me to see them in stores and not getting credit for them is upsetting.”
Davidson’s wig styles are being sold under company Pink Personality in stores and via the internet. Pink Personality is owned by Nicki Minaj, and it is being sued as well.
Minaj is being sued for stealing intellectual property and being unable to enter other business ventures (i.e. reality show) in anticipation of the two working together on the wig line.
Davidson is seeking $30 million in damages. Minaj’s camp has not yet released an official statement.
I guess the purpose of Nicki Minaj recently taking out her weave to reveal her real hair (on Instagram) was to let us all know that she was going back to her roots. And in this new video, “Lookin’ A$$ Nigga” she does just that.
Nicki returns to her metaphor-heavy, hardcore street rap that once funneled through her music when she first started dropping mixtapes. Over the years, she went commercial/pop and a lot of her early fans turned their backs on her. I can admit, I was one of them. When the singing and big colorful wigs and wild outfits came into play, I wasn’t feeling it. But my love for street rap is the reason why. I thought Nicki allowed the pomp and circumstance overpower the art. Not to say that she isn’t a dope artist, she is. She merely just lost her way…probably because of the business aspect of being in the entertainment. Who doesn’t want to get to the money?!
Anywhoo, the old Nicki is back and giving us life on her new video. The song, which will be featured on an upcoming compilation album, is a short 2 1/2 minute track with straight ether. She’s letting the fellas have it on this one. Which I don’t blame her, it’s about time a female artist put these ni**as in place. We’re tired of being womanized and undervalued. It’s time for women to take a stance and let it be known that we aren’t impressed by that “fake sh*t”.
So, kudos to Nicki…if her new album is going to be on this level, just let me know when the pre-order sales start. I’m definitely copping it!
Nicki Minaj is a boss. She’s been able to capitalize on her talents and business mind frame, which has enabled her to maximize her brand better than any other female rapper. This is what we appreciate about Nicki. Even if you don’t particularly enjoy her music, you have no choice but to respect her grind.
Last year, she announced her very own fashion line, The Nicki Minaj Collection. Geared toward the every day families, the KMART customers are snatching the garments off the shelves. Therefore, Nicki is pressing forward with her next collection.
On Wednesday, she Instagrammed a few of the new items in her Spring Collection. The 2014 designs include florals, bold block cut-outs, and bright colors.
Take a look at a few of her designs:

Cash Money Records and Young Money’s rise as two of the most powerful labels in hip hop is undeniable. Young Money, for example, is the headquarters for Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga – three of the most successful young artists to represent hip hop in the last 5 years. With bossman Lil Wayne’s impactful career and their domination of the craft, it’s obvious that they will not let up any time soon.
To prove that, Young Money announced that it will be releasing a compilation album on March 11. “Young Money: Rise of an Empire” will feature Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Gudda Gudda, Shanell, Christina Milian and other artists on their roster.
“This compilation is a very special release for the label,” Cortez Bryant, Young Money’s COO, said in a release. “‘We Are Young Money’ helped launch the careers of our first generation of acts with Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. Even though we’ve been honored with accolades as a company, our hunger hasn’t diminished or dwindled. We’re hungrier than ever, and we’re still building.
“That goes hand-in-hand with the title ‘Young Money: Rise Of An Empire.’ We’re not going anywhere. We don’t plan on stopping — ever. Our goal is the expansion of this Empire with the next generation of kings and queens ruling.”
“There’s nothing like it when the whole family gets together in the studio,” Lil Wayne added. “YMCMB is stronger than ever, and everybody was truly on fire. We’re all blessed to be a part of this incredible Empire as it continues to thrive. I can’t wait for what’s next. Keep watching.”
To set the tone, yesterday they released a new single “We Alright”. The track features their newcomer Euro, Birdman, and Lil Wayne. Unfortunately, the label ganked it from the internet. When we find it, we’ll most definitely share it.
When he said he wanted to become the first hip hop mogul to become a billionaire, he wasn’t lying. Forbes recently released its list of Richest Hip Hop Artists of 2013 and guess who landed at number one.
Again, trampling over all other artists in hip hop, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs reclaimed his number one spot by racking in $50 million this year. For years now, he has dominated the hip hop industry with various business ventures which has all proven to be very profitable. But outside of music, his Sean Jean clothing line, and his newly created Revolt channel, the alcoholic beverage industry is what has catapulted him into King of All Bosses status.
The Daigeo Ciroc Vodka has become a staple within the hip hop nightlife scene. With the help of DJ’s, celebrity endorsers, and Diddy’s own marketing expertise, the New York Bad Boy has branded the product so strategically that you can’t help but recognize it and ask for Ciroc when you want to get your drink on. Also, its wide variety of flavors has proven to be a hit amongst drinkers.
Our boy, Jay-Z ranked number two with $43 million. But that’s no sweat off Hov’s back. Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce’s combined household income of $95 million confirmed their spot as the #1 Highest-Earning Celebrity Couple of 2013.
Surprisingly, one hip hop artist (who happens to be a woman) help round out the top five. Congrats to Nicki Minaj for a job well done and for also beating out her own boss Bryan “Birdman” Williams!
1. P. Diddy = $50 million
2. Jay-Z – $43 million
3. Dr. Dre = $40 million
4. Nicki Minaj = $29 million
5. Birdman = $21 million
Nicki Minaj mashed out at the recent BMI Awards Show in New York. She received numerous awards for her success in the music industry. Her label, Cash Money Records, were also honored for their achievements and advancement of careers for many of their artist.
As a special surprise for Nicki, Miami femcee Trina hit the stage and performed “Moment For Life” for the Barbs proud Queen. Trina did an outstanding job with the performance and was fashionably appropriate (she even rocked a blonde bob wig to add a little flare to her dedication tribute).
Check out footage from Trina’s stage performance below:

New Vids: Fantasia – “Without Me” feat. Missy Elliott & Kelly Rowland + Ciara – “I’m Out” feat. Nicki Minaj
One day after the 2013 BET Awards, two very hyped videos were released from Fantasia and Ciara. Ciara premiered the song “I’m Out”, which features Nicki Minaj, on the BET Awards main stage and killed her performance. This is the second single from her upcoming One Woman Army album set to debut on July 9th. She’s definitely trying to snatch a crown this time around. Take a peep at her new video below…
Fantasia’s album Side Effects Of You, which was released in April, is one of her best albums to date. One of the most talked about collaborations on the album “Without Me” is now being supported by an official video. The song features Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott, both of which did a superb job at keeping the song vibrant, sexy, and just plain ole dope. Check it out…
Salute to these ladies!
One things for sure, the 2013 BET Awards brought the heat this year when it came to performances. There were actually more performances than awards given out. But, that’s cool. The millions of viewers who tuned in were more interested in the singing and dancing than they were who won best so and so. With that said, it was rather difficult to pick who actually had the best performance of the night. Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Charlie Wilson’s tribute, Janelle Monae and others all showed out. But if I could give an award to the most jaw dropping performance of night, it would have to go to Atlanta’ own Ciara. Ci Ci did her thang and showed the critics that she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Also, this year BET decided to include a reggae set to the line-up which included Beenie Man and Elephant Man. Although new, this was a great addition and opportunity to represent for the large Caribbean culture here in America.
In case you missed the awards show, check out a few of the performances below.

Who were your favorite performers of the night???
Nelly is making his rounds. Lately, he’s been popping up on numerous songs as he gears up for his upcoming album M.O. . His single to jump start the promo run is produced by Pharrell and features Nicki Minaj. “Get Like Me” is a congo drum driven track that sounds quite simple. But, once you get into it you start to feel like this will be a great summertime song. It’ll definitely get play at the pool parties and clubs.
Take a listen and let us know what you think. Do you think Nelly can make his mark again on the rap game?
New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium packed out last night for Hot 97′s Summer Jam concert. This year, Hot 97 radio celebrated its 20th anniversary by continuing the tradition of having one of the most influential hip hop events ever. Each year, hip hop’s favorite emcees all gather onto one stage to represent for the culture and music. On stage last night, R&B and hip hop collided as several artists rocked the crowd like ASAP Rocky, French Montana, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and even a reunion by the Wu-Tang Clan.
As expected, artists took the time to perform some of their best collaboration songs. For instance, Mariah Carey and Miguel performed her new hit “Beautiful”. Also, 2 Chainz brought out his long-time friend Nicki Minaj during his set. In case you missed it, here are their performances and a couple photos from the concert.
Ciara calls on Nicki Minaj for her official lead single from her new album. The beat-thumping tune incorporates a little African/Caribbean swag which is something new for Ci Ci. If this is produced by Sak Pase, which it does, then no wonder why there’s a Caribbean influence on this track. Nevertheless, it’s a cool song. Not necessarily spectacular, but okay for the clubs.
Check out Ciara’s new single “I’m Out” featuring Nicki Minaj below. Let us know what you think.
With rumors swirling and many wondering, the air has finally been cleared.
Longtime judge of Fox’s hit singing competition show ‘American Idol’, Randy Jackson has confirmed that he will not be returning to his judge’s seat next season. Jackson attributes his departure to taking time to nurture his record label and pursue other business ventures. In a statement Jackson said, “To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol,’ I have decided to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry.”
Jackson is currently the only original judge still on the show since its origination in 2002. The original panel consisted of Jackson, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. He now sits on the panel Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj.
With the show’s ratings being down and Jackson leaving the show, it’s left to wonder if American Idol will even have a next season and if so whether or not any of the judges will return. Only time will tell!
OK Nicki!!! I’m digging this joint.
Nicki Minaj dropped her new video for “High School” which features her bossman Lil Wayne. The video is a nice sunny vid, perfect segway into the spring/summer season. In the midst of a little action, the chemistry between Wayne and Nicki is very prevelant. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think they were a bonafide couple. LOL
Anyhoo, check out Nicki’s new video below and let me know what you think.
One thing about Birdman, he knows how to creep up on you with new music.
His newest joint “Tapout” is an ode to those with that bomb sex game. You know the kind that’s so good, you can’t go any longer…you just want to “tap out”. Well, Birdman has the mood music to go right along with that explosive night of pleasure. However, he brought along his newly formed ‘Rich Gang’ which consists of Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Mack Maine, and Future. Not sure if all of them were needed on this joint. But, it’s cool nevertheless.
Check it out for yourself below…
“Tapout” will be featured on Birdman’s Rich Gang: Flashy Lifestyle compilation album. It is due out May 21.
Bad Boy’s French Montana has released the video for his latest single, “Freaks.” The track features the likes of Young Money’s Nicki Minaj who from her own music has already let it be known that she’s no stranger to the freakier side of things.
While it’s obvious by the title that the song is quite sexual in nature, the beat itself, which samples the Doug E. Fresh and Lil Vicious’ “Freaks” and Chaka Demus & Pliers’ “Murder She Wrote,”adds its own heat. The track comes from French Montana’s upcoming debut album Excuse My French which is due out this summer.
Check out the visuals for “Freaks” below.
The highly anticipated video or should I say videos for Alicia Keys’ new hit single “Girl on Fire” has hit the scene. The first video is the standard versions of the song sans Nicki Minaj, while the inferno version is an updated take of the first video but houses Nicki’s feature. As usual, Alicia puts it down with this one and has set the tone for what’s to come. Check out the videos below…
Alicia’s Girl on Fire album is set to hit stores on November 27th.
Young Money princess Nicki Minaj is back with another single and video from her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Her new joint ‘Va Va Voom’ is definitely one for the crowd and will more than likely be a hit in the commercial pipeline. Nonetheless, Nicki will still be Nicki with all her antics. Check out ‘Va Va Voom’ vid below…
The ladies seem to be bringing the hit and are definitely doing their thing in their respective lanes when it comes to music. With upcoming projects on the way, both Alicia Keys and Nicki Minaj have debuted new videos for their recently released new songs.
Alicia Keys’ new hit single ‘Girl on Fire’ which has already made its way into a commercial truly pumps up girl power. Her upcoming album of the same name is due in stores on November 27th.
As for Miss Nicki Minaj, she’s talking about ‘The Boys’ in her new single featuring Bad Boy’s Cassie. In the video the two come together by way of a lot of colors and plenty of sass. The song will be included on Nicki’s upcoming revamp of her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up. The album is scheduled for release on November 19th.
Check out both videos below…

Ever since J. Lo and Steven Tyler announced their departure from Fox’s hit competition show ‘American Idol’ there’s been a bunch of hoopla as to who will take their place and whether or not Randy Jackson would be leaving too. Well dear fans, you can exhale and wonder no more…the panel is complete.
With it already previously being confirmed that singer Mariah Carey was a for sure go, sitting with her for the upcoming 12th season of the show will be original ‘Idol’ panel member Randy Jackson, rapper Nicki Minaj and country singer Keith Urban. Ryan Seacrest will remain as host.
About the revamped judges’ panel, Fox executive Mike Darnell said, “I am thrilled about this year’s judges’ panel. With an unparalleled star like Mariah, fan-favorite Randy, chart-toppers like Nicki and Keith and our incomparable host Ryan, we’ve put together one of the most exciting judging panels around.”
Well there you have it. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how the four of them vibe. Will you be watching when the new season begins in January???
Hip-Hop’s Barbie is expanding her brand yet once again. Sending her scent her Barbz’s way, Nicki Minaj is about to release her fragrance Pink Friday. In partnership with Elizabeth Arden, the Young Money Princess will debut the fragrance in department stores nationwide this month.
The scent of Pink Friday is said to be one that intertwines a hint of fruit with vanilla to create “an exhilarating scent that ignites beyond the senses.” The fragrance comes in a bottle that has Nicki’s facial features, pink lips and pink hair.
About Pink Friday, Nicki said it’s “a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman. I know my Barbz will connect with and appreciate each aspect – from the name, to the outrageous bottle design, to the vibrant colors that create their own song. Pink Friday shows off my personality and style; it’s exciting to express my voice through another dimension. I was involved in every aspect of the decision-making process – it seems easy because I always get this feeling inside: I know if something is right or wrong. Each detail needs to ‘wow’ me or it is not an option; that’s my way of composing perfection.”
Surprisingly, copping the fragrance won’t hit the pockets too hard with prices ranging from $22-$59. Be sure to let us know what you think if you happen to snatch up a bottle or just catch a whiff.
Off of his most recent Strange Clouds album, B.o.B drops his latest video “Out of My Mind”. One of the standout tracks from the album the Benny Boom-directed video features YMCMB’s Nicki Minaj.
Check it out below:
What you think about B.o.B’s new video, “Out of My Mind”?
Well…the time has officialy arrived. On Tuesday, August 14, 2 Chainz will debut his first solo album, Based On A T.R.U. Story. B.O.A.T.S is expected by many to be one of the top rap albums of the year. Will 2 Chainz surpass Nas and Rick Ross? That question is up for debate. But nevertheless, we’re sure the huge buzz he’s created for himself over the past 2 years will prove to be financially beneficial.
Leading off with “No Lie” (feat. Drake) as the first single proved to be a hit. “Birthday Song” (feat. Kanye West) was a little mediocre. The radio didn’t eat that up. Now as his third prerequisite before The Real University (T.R.U.) opens and flood our speaker systems, 2 Chainz and Nicki Minaj collabs and tell us why they love strippers with “I Luv Dem Strippers”. Also, featuring cameos from T.I. and Young Jeezy, check out the new video below:
Will these heavyweight collaborations help B.O.A.T.S reach number one? We’ll see in due time. Until then, check out the official tracklist:

Nicki Minaj took it back to her roots in her latest video. “Pound The Alarm”, the dance track with a lil international flavor, takes viewers behind the scenes of festival-life in Trinidad. With plenty hot girls in traditional garb and feathered head peices, Nicki lets loose and show us that she can definitely shake her bum bum too. The video, directed by Benny Boom, is a nice visual gateway into Nicki’s homeland. She truly has homies that support her to the fullest…even if it is from way overseas.
Check out the video below:
Do you like “Pound The Alarm”??
DJ Khaled has released his first single of his upcoming album, Kiss The Ring. The street banger, Take It To The Head, features YMCMB label mates Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. Rick Ross and Chris Brown blessed the record giving the song an instant “remix” feel.
Check out the video below:
Nicki Minaj dropped the visual to “Right By My Side” today. The track features Chris Brown and suprisingly rapper Nas, as her leading man. Benny Boom shot the video which portrayed Nicki as the sweet girl who flashbacks to various times in the relationship. Nas and Nicki actually would make a good looking couple…in my opinion.
Peep the video:
