Randy Jackson Says No More ‘American Idol’ For Him
With rumors swirling and many wondering, the air has finally been cleared.
Longtime judge of Fox’s hit singing competition show ‘American Idol’, Randy Jackson has confirmed that he will not be returning to his judge’s seat next season. Jackson attributes his departure to taking time to nurture his record label and pursue other business ventures. In a statement Jackson said, “To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol,’ I have decided to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry.”
Jackson is currently the only original judge still on the show since its origination in 2002. The original panel consisted of Jackson, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. He now sits on the panel Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj.
With the show’s ratings being down and Jackson leaving the show, it’s left to wonder if American Idol will even have a next season and if so whether or not any of the judges will return. Only time will tell!

Nicki Minaj dropped her new video for “High School” which features her bossman Lil Wayne. The video is a nice sunny vid, perfect segway into the spring/summer season. In the midst of a little action, the chemistry between Wayne and Nicki is very prevelant. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think they were a bonafide couple. LOL

One thing about Birdman, he knows how to creep up on you with new music.
His newest joint “Tapout” is an ode to those with that bomb sex game. You know the kind that’s so good, you can’t go any longer…you just want to “tap out”. Well, Birdman has the mood music to go right along with that explosive night of pleasure. However, he brought along his newly formed ‘Rich Gang’ which consists of Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Mack Maine, and Future. Not sure if all of them were needed on this joint. But, it’s cool nevertheless.

New Vid: French Montana feat. Nicki Minaj – “Freaks”
Bad Boy’s French Montana has released the video for his latest single, “Freaks.” The track features the likes of Young Money’s Nicki Minaj who from her own music has already let it be known that she’s no stranger to the freakier side of things.
While it’s obvious by the title that the song is quite sexual in nature, the beat itself, which samples the Doug E. Fresh and Lil Vicious’ “Freaks” and Chaka Demus & Pliers’ “Murder She Wrote,”adds its own heat. The track comes from French Montana’s upcoming debut album Excuse My French which is due out this summer.

The highly anticipated video or should I say videos for Alicia Keys’ new hit single “Girl on Fire” has hit the scene. The first video is the standard versions of the song sans Nicki Minaj, while the inferno version is an updated take of the first video but houses Nicki’s feature. As usual, Alicia puts it down with this one and has set the tone for what’s to come. Check out the videos below…

Young Money princess Nicki Minaj is back with another single and video from her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Her new joint ‘Va Va Voom’ is definitely one for the crowd and will more than likely be a hit in the commercial pipeline. Nonetheless, Nicki will still be Nicki with all her antics. The ladies seem to be bringing the hit and are definitely doing their thing in their respective lanes when it comes to music. With upcoming projects on the way, both Alicia Keys and Nicki Minaj have debuted new videos for their recently released new songs.
Alicia Keys’ new hit single ‘Girl on Fire’ which has already made its way into a commercial truly pumps up girl power. Her upcoming album of the same name is due in stores on November 27th.
As for Miss Nicki Minaj, she’s talking about ‘The Boys’ in her new single featuring Bad Boy’s Cassie. In the video the two come together by way of a lot of colors and plenty of sass. The song will be included on Nicki’s upcoming revamp of her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up. The album is scheduled for release on November 19th.

The 40th Anniversary American Music Awards [Show Info + Nominees]
The 2012 American Music Awards are just around the corner and the nominees are in.
Leading the way in nominations for this year’s American Music Awards are Def Jam’s Rihanna and Young Money’s Nicki Minaj. The leading ladies of their respective labels both have four nominations each.
Other multiple category nominees include Chris Brown, Katy Perry, Drake, Usher, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5. In addition to Nicki Minaj’s four nods, Young Money can already count on winning at least one award considering that the nominess for the ‘Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop’ category are all from that label. Nicki Minaj will face off with Drake and Tyga, but it’s a win-win for the label either way.
This year the ‘New Electronic Dance Music’ category was added to the list of awards with David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Skirllex being its first nominees. Performers and presenters for the show will be announced over the next few weeks.
Pop Star and ‘The Voice’ judge Chiristina Aguilera had the honors of announcing this year’s nominees. Check out the full list below…

‘American Idol’ Confirms Judges’ Panel For Upcoming Season
Ever since J. Lo and Steven Tyler announced their departure from Fox’s hit competition show ‘American Idol’ there’s been a bunch of hoopla as to who will take their place and whether or not Randy Jackson would be leaving too. Well dear fans, you can exhale and wonder no more…the panel is complete.
With it already previously being confirmed that singer Mariah Carey was a for sure go, sitting with her for the upcoming 12th season of the show will be original ‘Idol’ panel member Randy Jackson, rapper Nicki Minaj and country singer Keith Urban. Ryan Seacrest will remain as host.
About the revamped judges’ panel, Fox executive Mike Darnell said, “I am thrilled about this year’s judges’ panel. With an unparalleled star like Mariah, fan-favorite Randy, chart-toppers like Nicki and Keith and our incomparable host Ryan, we’ve put together one of the most exciting judging panels around.”
Well there you have it. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how the four of them vibe. Will you be watching when the new season begins in January???
Nicki Minaj Sending Her Scent Her Barbz’s Way
Hip-Hop’s Barbie is expanding her brand yet once again. Sending her scent her Barbz’s way, Nicki Minaj is about to release her fragrance Pink Friday. In partnership with Elizabeth Arden, the Young Money Princess will debut the fragrance in department stores nationwide this month.
The scent of Pink Friday is said to be one that intertwines a hint of fruit with vanilla to create “an exhilarating scent that ignites beyond the senses.” The fragrance comes in a bottle that has Nicki’s facial features, pink lips and pink hair.
About Pink Friday, Nicki said it’s “a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman. I know my Barbz will connect with and appreciate each aspect – from the name, to the outrageous bottle design, to the vibrant colors that create their own song. Nicki Minaj took it back to her roots in her latest video. “Pound The Alarm”, the dance track with a lil international flavor, takes viewers behind the scenes of festival-life in Trinidad. With plenty hot girls in traditional garb and feathered head peices, Nicki lets loose and show us that she can definitely shake her bum bum too. The video, directed by Benny Boom, is a nice visual gateway into Nicki’s homeland. She truly has homies that support her to the fullest…even if it is from way overseas.

Nicki Minaj Joins “IHeartRadio” Music Festival
Despite all the current drama and “he say, she say” surrounding rapper Nicki Minaj, good news about Young Money’s first lady is still rolling in. It was recently announced that Miss Minaj has been added to list of performers for the upcoming Clear Channel Radio’s first ever “IHeartRadio” Music Festival. The festival which has been deemed as “the biggest live music event in radio history”will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest and will be held September 23-24 in Las Vegas. Some of the other artists pegged for the event include the likes of Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Carrie Underwood, the Black Eyed Peas, and Bruno Mars. According to Billboard.com, Kanye West’s highly anticipated album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy claimed the no 1 spot on the charts. MBDTF came in real close to Gold status with 497,089 copies sold. Good job Yeezy! In the midst of the epidemic that has plagued the industry for years now, the lack of female rapper representation saw a breathe of light with the sales of Pink Friday. Nicki Minaj’s debut album currently holds the no 2 spot wit 375,973 copies sold. Kudos to Nicki!

This Monday, Nicki Minaj’s most anticipated female rap album was released to the masses. The new album called Pink Friday has barbies and ken-barbs all over the world in an uproar. But the barbies aren’t alone in this pink frenzy. Corporate big wigs are finally jumping on the bandwagon. MAC cosmetics is one of the first to allow Ms Minaj to endorse their product. It seems like a perfect fit, right?! I mean, what barbie doesn’t wear lipstick! Yesterday, MTV caught up with Nicki Minaj during her visit to the NY MAC store while promoting her new cd along with her special edition Pink Friday lipstick. Get it Nicki!
