When Rihanna took a $2 million loss on what was supposed to be her dream home, she probably never suspected that this legal battle would last this long.
According to the Daily Mail, Rihanna’s lawyers were ordered to schedule a deposition date for the pop singer. In 2009, Ri Ri purchased her Beverly Hills mansion for $6.9 million. Soon after, the home suffered major water damage which caused her to sue several companies. She eventually got rid of the home altogether causing her to take a loss of $2 million.
The company Rihanna is suing is LaRocca Inspection Associates, Inc. They were the initial company hired in 2009 to inspect the property. As with most inspections, their final report would contain a list of needed repairs (which must be fixed by the property owners prior to closing). In Rihanna’s lawsuit, she claimed that LaRocca had not made sure that the water seepage issues were fixed before she closed escrow
The lawsuit also charges Prudential California Reality and former owners Adrian and Heather Rudamin with fraud, negligence, and breach of contract.
No word yet on when Rihanna will submit her deposition.

Rihanna stole the show last night at the 2013 American Music Awards. From her banging body in that little two-piece black ensemble to her facial beauty, the Barbados-bombshell couldn’t be denied among her peers in the Nokia Theater. The audience and the television viewers were in awe as Ri Ri stunned everyone by rocking a half-done do. In what has to be a “first”, Rihanna strutted her stuff while in a wrap hairstyle adorned with embellished Bobby pins. LOL.
Only Rihanna could have pulled this off…and she did! She still looked stunning without having to wear the latest hair trend. She definitely made a statement last night that she is bold, beautiful, and could care less what we think!
In addition, yesterday evening was an pivotal moment in Rihanna’s career as she was awarded the AMA’s “Icon” Award. The Icon Award is given to artists who has transcended way beyond the norm for most. An icon is an individual who’s name, prescence, spirit, and influence is undeniable and has impacted millions of fans throughout the world. Although some people believe it may be too early for her to receive it, the AMA team of board members apparently didn’t think so. And Rihanna didn’t mind receiving it as she graciously accepted the award.
“I’m so nervous right now. I’m terrible at giving speeches. I’ll just start by saying, twenty years ago is when I really started to make your life a living hell with my annoying little husky man voice you called it. I mean, just disrupting the entire neighborhood…I annoyed every one of my neighbors and ten years later I was blessed enough to meet Evan and Carl and I was working with them.
I auditioned for them at fifteen — my mom came and she was looking at us like, ‘You’re in school uniform and you still have some stuff to finish before you can think about doing this’ and I literally begged and pleaded and she finally said ‘yes’ and I thank you for that yes because that was the beginning of it all.
Shortly after that, my demo was done and I met Jay Z and Jay Brown and those are the guys who really believed in me, L.A. Reid. So many people I have to thank for the success of keeping me sane, my friends, my family, my brothers, my glam team for making me look cute all the time!
My fans I love you so much, you have no idea. You keep me driven. You keep this thing special. I can’t believe I’m 25 years old and I’m holding an icon award. That is weird to even say out loud. I thank you and I’m grateful. You all play such an important part. I’m only as good as my team so I love you guys so much. Thank you!”
After receiving her prestigious award, she took to the stage to perform her hit “Diamonds” off of her Unapologetic album. The song was certified as one of Rihanna’s best songs to-date. The song, written by Sia Furler, has went on to sell 7.5 million copies worldwide.

Okay…Eminem and Rihanna has linked back up for a monster hit. This new track “The Monster” is his second buzz single Em has released in preparation for his upcoming album, Marshall Mathers LP 2.
The last time we heard from these two was in 2010 with “Love The Way You Lie” and a second version included on Ri Ri’s Loud album. The song was a chart-topping hit. But, will “The Monster” make the same impact. The track doesn’t give off the same powerful impact, but if placed in the right setting, it could do good numbers.
Marshall Mathers LP 2 will be released next Tuesday. “The Monster” can now be purchased on iTunes.
Rihanna is ready to place her mark on television with new fashion-competition series, Styled to Rock.
The Barbados-born singer, along with three additional mentors, will give 12 up-and-coming designers the opportunity to create fresh, hip, and innovative clothing for some of the industries most successful artists. The winner will receive the title of America’s Next Trendsetting designer, $100,000 in cash, a feature in Glamour magazine, and a chance to become a member of the design team on Rihanna’s clothing line.
Each week, Pharrell Williams, Erin Wasson, and Rihanna’s personal stylist Mel Ottenberg will mentor the designers. While going through real-life demanding situations, the contestants will have a limited time to create an innovative outfit and complete look based on the celebrities’ detailed brief. The mentors will critique the looks and determine if their designs are worthy to be seen by the celebrity. Of course, if any contestant doesn’t design up to the standard, they could possibly face elimination.
Weekly designs will be chosen and the winning outfit will be worn by the celebrity to an upcoming red carpet event. For those designs that didn’t fit the bill, those designers will be mentored and given sound advice on how to improve. This will continue until a final winner of Styled to Rock is chosen.

The Budweiser corporation teams up with Rihanna for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into her life on the road. Filmed during her Diamonds World Tour, the short-form digital documentary’s purpose is to bridge the gap between the fan and the artist.
“Half of Me” is an extension of Budweiser’s “Made for Music” global initiative, a platform to showcase artists who have made a undeniable impact on pop culture. Rihanna’s road to success has been a testament to her drive. Her driven nature, style, authenticity, etc has been an inspiration to many of her fans worldwide. Thus, “Half of Me” explores the relationship between Rihanna and the fans and how her music merges their two world together.
“The Budweiser Half of Me documentary is a true picture of behind the scenes of my Diamonds World Tour. It not only tells the story from my eyes but also in the eyes of my fans,” says Rihanna. “One of my favorite parts of traveling is being able to communicate with my amazing fans directly. For the second year in a row, Rihanna traveled to her native homeland to participate in their annual Crop Over festival. Last year she wore red and caused a global stir with the outfit choice. Well, she has done it again. Ri Ri wore an all white crystalized bikini top and bottom set that brought old glam Hollywood to the Caribbean. Because she exudes a strong amount of sexiness and femininity, many people take it as her being raunchy. But, haters need to understand that this is a natural wardrobe choice for their culture. At Caribbean festivals, this is the attire you wear if you are a participant in the parades and/or other activities.
For those who don’t know, in Barbados, the Crop Over dates back to the early 1870′s. The country was once the largest producer of sugar. When the sugar season was over, the natives would celebrate the success of another sugar harvest. This celebration became known as the Crop Over.
The Crop Over celebration was ended in 1940. However, the locals revived it in 1974 and continues to draw thousands from across the world.

Today, a UK judge handed Rihanna the win in the battle between she and British-retailer Top Shop. Back in May, the pop star filed a $5 million lawsuit against the retailer for the unauthorized use of her image. Top Shop began selling t-shirts with a picture of Rihanna’s face on it. The singer claimed she did not give Top Shop the go-ahead to use the t-shirt, which was of poor quality of the material and photo used.
Because her face was on the t-shirt, Judge Birss believed that buyers were deceived thinking Rihanna authorized the sale.
Rihanna’s attorneys argued that t-shirt casted a dark shadow over her own fashion line, River Island. This is her first venture into fashion and believed that this ordeal may hurt her future as a designer.
Topshop said it was “surprised and disappointed” by the judgment and would seek permission to appeal, Reuters reports.
“We robustly dispute the Judge’s conclusion,” it said, adding: “There was no evidence of consumer confusion to support the Judge’s conclusion.”
No word yet on what the final payout will be to Rihanna.
The original version was already HOT! But, with the huge amount of success as the single has received, our D.C. boy Wale added a little more flavor by adding the baddest R&B chick in the game. Rihanna is featured on the new remix version of “Bad” and she definitely spices it up. The production is altered just a bit, but it doesn’t take away from the intense sensuality the song brings. This is definitely a dope track. Wale did it again!

Lately, celebrities are extremely concerned with how their image is seen. One bad shot could potentially kill the brand. Earlier this year, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter demanded that blogs and news sites pull unflattering Super Bowl pictures of her from the their websites. Now, Rihanna is taking a stance.
According to Eurweb.com, Rihanna’s legal team has filed a claim against a UK department store for selling a t-shirt with her face on it. The store, Top Shop, is one of the UK’s leading retail sellers of clothing and other merchandise for the young and hip. However, the pop star is dissatisfied with the t-shirt and the quality. The lawsuit claims that the store used a “low quality” picture from her “We Found Love” video shoot. The quality of the shirts were quoted as “poor” and that this was “a product that would not have been authorized by the first claimant.”
Rihanna is seeking $5 million in the lawsuit.
Despite the ups and downs of her personal life, I think it’s safe to say that bad girl Ri Ri’s career has been in constant upward motion. From successful tours, chart topping albums, endorsements, and a new clothing line just to name a few, Rihanna seems to be moving full speed ahead with her achievements.
Her most recent biggie is being the first artist to snag 10 number one hits in the history of Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Pop songs radio airplay chart. Her first hit to land at number one was “S.O.S” from her second album A Girl Like Me and her 10th was her single “Stay” which is from her latest album Unapologetic. Other Rihanna hits that landed at the number one spot include “Umbrella”, “Take a Bow”, “Disturbia”, “Rude Boy”, “Love the Way You Lie”, “S&M”, “Only Girl (In the World)”, and “We Found Love.”
With seven albums in seven years and an incredible fan base, she was bound to stay on the charts, but to make it to number one that many time is definitely something for the Barbados beauty to be proud of.
While Rihanna has already launched her Diamonds tour, I’m sure you haven’t forgotten about the 777 Tour she embarked on last year. The 777 tour in which she hit seven cities in seven days was to promote and in honor of her seventh album Unapologetic.
The traveling portion of the tour itself made several headlines considering she toured a little differently than normal. On this particular tour, she took along 200 guests that were comprised of 50 fans and 150 journalists and they all traveled on the same plane. Together they made stops in Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York.
Well not to leave the rest of the world out on all the goings of touring seven cities in seven with such a large group, Rihanna documented the whole thing. So get ready because in May Fox will premiere the documentary entitled “Rihanna 777” letting her fans in on it all.

Ri Ri is really digging into the fashion world!
Fresh off the heels of the debut of her new clothing line Rihanna for River Island which we told you about here, the Barbados beauty has now snagged a deal with the popular MAC Cosmetics brand.
In the deal, Rihanna’s cosmetic line, RiRi Hearts MAC, will feature four collections that will be released over the next year. The first product scheduled for release next month will be a lipstick called RiRi Woo in honor of Ri’s favorite MAC shade, Ruby Woo.
About her dive into the cosmetics world especially considering she was also named as a creative partner for the project, Rihanna shares her excitement saying, “I really got to play. There’s so much to choose from, and you can mix different textures with different colors and different greens in different eye shadows. I learned so much about the detail of makeup and what makes things look different. What makes it apply different is really important. Every little detail is important.”
Other products in the RiRi Hearts MAC collections will include other shades of lipsticks, eye shadows, blushes and eyelashes
Miss “Unapologetic” Rihanna who is often the talk of the fashion world when it comes to her own unique style now has her own clothing line.
In a joint effort with the British high street retailer River Island, Rihanna launched her line during a London Fashion Week event. The Rihanna for River Island collection is casual, yet chic and in true Ri Ri fashion some pieces are a bit risqué. Items in the collection include midriff mess tops, skirts, slouchy jeans, and dresses.

Rihanna’s video for her hit single “Diamonds” has hit the scene. The song is from her upcoming album Unapologetic which is due in stores on November 19th. Similar to the cover for the single the video too is full of diamonds. In addition to diamonds, there are wild horses, fire, water and smoke which all come together to form the perfect symmetry of perfection laced with tragedy.
For Rihanna the visuals were about emotion. In a promotional video for “Diamonds”, the singer says, “With every song it’s a different story, so visuals are very specific to that story and that world. With ‘Diamonds,’ it was just a series of vignettes that we put together to help get the emotion across throughout the song. We wanted little cutaways of interactions that would give you the right emotion.”

Unapologetic is supposedly scheduled to hit the streets on November 16th.
In preparation for her upcoming album ‘Unapologetic’, Rihanna has used social networks to cleverly spread the word. Due out November 16, her seventh studio album will explore an experimentation of new sounds. To captivate this “new” sound, it is rumored that she’s called on producers No I.D., Sean Garrett, Star Gate, David Guetta, and Swedish House Mafia to name a few. Her first single “Diamonds” was released on Sept 27 to good reviews. The “Navy”, Rih Rih’s die hard stans, went ballistic on Twitter as expected.
To build on that momentum, the Def Jam/Roc Nation signee has been busy capitalizing on the buzz through other social networks such as Instagram. If you follow badgalriri, you’ll see that she often posts inspirational pics. To some, that may be surprising considering she’s made out to be somewhat of a “bad” role model in the media. She’s just living her life in my opinion. But whether the motivational tweetgrams are reflections of her own personal journey or strictly for marketing sake, fans can’t help but wonder if she’s giving us insight on what to expect on her next album.

The 2012 American Music Awards are just around the corner and the nominees are in.
Leading the way in nominations for this year’s American Music Awards are Def Jam’s Rihanna and Young Money’s Nicki Minaj. The leading ladies of their respective labels both have four nominations each.
Other multiple category nominees include Chris Brown, Katy Perry, Drake, Usher, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5. In addition to Nicki Minaj’s four nods, Young Money can already count on winning at least one award considering that the nominess for the ‘Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop’ category are all from that label. Nicki Minaj will face off with Drake and Tyga, but it’s a win-win for the label either way.
This year the ‘New Electronic Dance Music’ category was added to the list of awards with David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Skirllex being its first nominees. Performers and presenters for the show will be announced over the next few weeks.
