The Atlanta Hawks played their first season in Atlanta in 1968. They played the inaugural season in the NBA as the Buffalo Bisons in 1946. The Hawks played in three different cities before finding a permanent home here in Atlanta. The Hawks have worn at least 10 different jerseys since moving to the ATL and I will discuss the top three they worn.
The Hawks blue and neon green jerseys I would rank third. These jerseys were worn from 1970-72. “Pistol” Pete Maravich was drafted by the Hawks with the third pick in the 1970 NBA Draft and the Hawks started wearing these jerseys Maravich’s Rookie season. Walt Bellamy and Lou Hudson also wore these jerseys during that era. Hudson number 23 jersey is retired by the Hawks now. Lou Hudson was a NBA All-Star for both years these jerseys were worn and the Hawks did reach the playoffs each year in these jerseys.
The Hawks red and yellow jerseys I would rank as their second best jersey. These jerseys were worn from 1982-1992. These jerseys featured the “Pacman” logo which was one of the Hawks most famous logos. The Hawks debuted these jerseys during Dominique Wilkins Rookie year and Wilkins won two Slam-Dunk Contest in these jerseys. Dominique was known as “The Human Highlight Film”, in this jersey Wilkins was a Seven-Time NBA All-Star and lead the league in scoring the 1985-86 season. Wilkins number 21 jersey is retired by Atlanta now. The Hawks only missed the playoffs three seasons in these jerseys and some consider these the best throwback jerseys in Atlanta history.
In my opinion, I would rank the black and red jersey as the Hawks best throwback jersey. These were worn by the Hawks from 1995-99. The Hawks logo was big on the front, the number was at the top left and the logo was actually scary to some people. The Hawks actually won 50 or more games twice in these jerseys and Dikembo Mutombo won back to back NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards. Steve Smith and Dikembo Mutombo were the face of the Hawks during this era of the black jerseys and Smith made his only appearance in the NBA All-Star Game in 1998.
The Hawks made the playoffs every year in these jerseys and were defeated by the Chicago Bulls, who went on to the win the NBA Finals and the Knicks another year who lost in the NBA Finals. The Hawks still wear these jerseys as throwbacks and eventually the current jersey will become a throwback. The current navy road jersey and the red ATL jersey could eventually become the Hawks best throwback jersey. They definitely should rank in the top three in Hawks history.

Fashion is popular, always has been and always will be. We’ve seen clothes come in style, leave and return, sometimes even less than a decade a later. That’s the fashion life. But, how old is too old for older men and women (especially the women) to wear a certain attire?
Recently, I was shopping with my friends and a woman (who was probably close to 50 or maybe older) was trying on an outfit at the same time as one my friends. She stared at herself for several minutes in the mirror before turning around asking for my opinion. “How does this look?” Inside I was talking to myself like Mo’Nique did in Phat Girlz (when she didn’t want to say the truth aloud). I said, “nice.” But in my head I added, “if you were celebrating your 21st birthday.” She wore daisy dukes, with fishnets and a top exposing almost all of her breast. She also had a tattoo on her cleavage. Is this appropriate? Maybe to her it is, but to others it may not be.
On a separate occasion, I was in the Kids aisle and there were lace and netted shirts for the young girls. The shirts, in my opinion are too sexy for anyone who haven’t even reached puberty yet – and even then, it’s still questionable as to whether it’s appropriate or not. The same thing with leggings. I feel like little girls shouldn’t wear them. These days, kids bodies mature a lot quicker than they did back in in the day and leggings shows it all and bars none.
I also began questioning my own appearance at one point of time. When I was 20 and a junior in college, I became a substitute teacher. I enjoyed it. I felt like I dressed appropriately until students would walk up to me and talk about they have the same outfit as I do. When this was happening, my students thought that they could have friendship with me, not only because I was young, but also because our dressing styles were very similar. As the time went by I completely changed the way I looked when going into work. I learned that students actually have more respect for you when you look like a teacher instead of their peer.
The way a person dress not only says a lot about your character, but it also plays a role in respect. For example, the woman I seen with the daisy dukes on would most likely get less respect than a woman of her same ethnicity and age with nice slacks and a blouse on. This issue is also big with celebrities who wear skimpy clothes and still dress as if they’re in their early 20s.
So, we’re back at the same question again…should certain clothes have an age stipulation? Should we dress a certain way after we hit a certain age?

2 Chainz is next up on the list of artists who have designed a shoe for the ADIDAS brand. Actually, he’s probably the only one that has legitimate reasons to do so. I mean, the man did play basketball in school. So, he does have a different perspective on what sneakers should feel like and look like.
Regardless, however, 2 Chainz is making coins as he diversifies into the sportswear industry. His “2 Good To Be T.R.U.“shoe is molded from the Top Ten Hi ADIDAS Originals. The all-black shoe accented with gold-lace tips are topped with snakeskin strips, which adds more texture to the shoe. In my opinion, this what makes the sneaker pretty dope. What do you all think?
If these are something you would wear, hopefully you’ll have an extra $130 in your wallet after Valentines Day, ’cause the shoe will go on sale Saturday, Feb. 15.
In more 2 Chainz news, as you know he kicked off his 2 G.O.O.D To Be T.R.U. Tour on February 4 in Boston, MA. G.O.O. D. Music artist, Pusha T, is also on the tour, along with Def Jam’s August Alsina and T.R.U.’s Cap 1.
According to MTV News, 2 Chainz described what this tour is about…
“The best way to describe my tour is to reference a quote from Niccolo Machiavelli, author of the The Prince, who once said ‘Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.’ 2 G.O.O.D. 2 Be T.R.U.,” 2 Chainz declared in a press release announcing the tour.
In case you have not seen 2 Chainz perform, word is that he does put on a good show. And with Pusha T, August, and Cap 1…this has to be an awesome tour.
Fans, however, who are interested in seeing them in action, check the remaining dates below to see when the tour will be in your city.

Nicki Minaj is a boss. She’s been able to capitalize on her talents and business mind frame, which has enabled her to maximize her brand better than any other female rapper. This is what we appreciate about Nicki. Even if you don’t particularly enjoy her music, you have no choice but to respect her grind.
Last year, she announced her very own fashion line, The Nicki Minaj Collection. Geared toward the every day families, the KMART customers are snatching the garments off the shelves. Therefore, Nicki is pressing forward with her next collection.
On Wednesday, she Instagrammed a few of the new items in her Spring Collection. The 2014 designs include florals, bold block cut-outs, and bright colors.
Take a look at a few of her designs:

DO YOU LIKE NICKI MINAJ’S SPRING COLLECTION?
Most people celebrated Christmas yesterday surrounded by family and close friends. This time of fellowship allows everyone to enjoy their blessings and give unto others. This is one reason why gifts are such a big deal at Christmas time. And who doesn’t like to receive presents?!
So…what did Santa Claus (or family) give you for Christmas this year? Hopefully, it was something you really wanted and not one of those dreadful holiday sweaters. Although clothes are a always a great gift to give, for the past few years, electronics and tech gadgets have made the top of the list.
According to the Associated Press, audio equipment topped the holiday gift list this year. They say Americans purchased more items relating to music this year than in past years. Electronics such as headphones, speakers, and other audio gear made up approximately 13 percent of the $8 billion in sales made. Headphones like Beats by Dre, SMS Audio, etc rose about 14 percent in sales. Also, sales of the wireless sound bar speakers rose about 80 percent from last year.
Analysts believes Americans want a better listening experience, which is why dollars are being spent on high-quality sound gear (i.e. ear buds). With most Americans using their iPhones, Androids, tablets and such to listen to music and videos, no one wants to rely on the crappy ear buds you normally get with the phone. It’s all about the clarity of the sound, the bass, the surround sound, and overall audio quality. This has become of great importance to American consumers.
In addition to audio gear, analyst says tablets were a big hit again this year.
Tablets are not only purchased for adults any more. We now see a trend where more and more tablets are being purchased for seniors and kids. Kids, in particular, are using tablets at ages starting around 3 years old nowadays. Companies like Samsung, are designing tablets and apps that cater to a specific audience. For children, these tablets can be navigated through much easier. The tasks of scrolling through photos, playing video, playing games, and more are easy to do. And parents are quick to purchase tablets because it has taken place of the television, which was once the best way to keep a child preoccupied.
Recently, an ABC correspondent traveled to Canal Street (in New York City) to dive into the world of counterfeit handbags. This is big business and it has changed over the years when it comes to pricing. Back in the day, a person could cop a fake Gucci handbag for about $30-$40. Nowadays, ABC says the dealers on Canal St., in particular, have raised the stakes and are now charging anywhere up to $1,000 for a bag. These high priced knock-offs are called “superfakes”.
Watch the undercover investigation below:
True enough, it is difficult at times to determine if a handbag is real or not. In order to guarantee the authentication of your next handbag, best thing to do is buy it at the actual designer store (i.e. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, etc).
What are your thoughts about the “superfakes”? Are the dealers charging WAY too much for the counterfeit handbags?

Just when you think you’ve seen it all…
L’Oreal Paris, a leader in beauty products, has positioned it’s first make-up vending machine in New York City. The machine is located at the Bryant Park subway hub and readily accessible to any person who may need a few beauty products. The pop-up is called the “L’Oreal Paris Intelligent Color Experience” and is the first ever vending machine to use cameras and sensors to help suggest the right colors for you. When you step up to one of the vending machines, look into the mirror and camera. Instantly, the machines intelligence will detect the colors you are currently wearing and ask if you would prefer to stick with that color scheme. If so, products sold in the machine will be offered to you for purchasing.
Products can be purchased on the spot with a credit card. Also, you have the option to send L’Oreal’s product suggestions to you via email.
If you are in the New York area, you have until December 30, 2013 to go and try the experience out for yourself.
Ladies, what do you think? Would you buy make-up out of a vending machine?
Personally, the concerns I would have are:
1) will it be cheaper to buy in-store than at the vending machine?
2) is there a mark-up on price because of the “intelligence” aspect of this high-tech equipment?
3) are the products sold being monitored due to weather conditions? i wouldn’t want to purchase some lipstick that is frozen solid because of New York’s cold climate.
4) will persons of color be able to find products/colors suitable for their skin complexion in these vending machines?
I’m sure L’Oreal Paris thought of most of these things during pre-launch stages. But if not, these are some great questions to consider. However, there’s one great thing about this experience is that it makes it very convenient for today’s woman-on-the-go. Sometimes you can’t find the time to go to Walgreen’s and replace your mascara or foundation. So, L’Oreal definitely solved an issue of “time” with this idea.

Well, the controversial racial profiling incidents doesn’t seem to fade Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. He’s decided to move forward with his launch of exclusive collectors items at Barneys.
Despite the accusations made by two New Yorkers and authorities investigation against Barneys New York, Jay-Z is sticking to his end of the agreement to sale his ‘A New York Holiday’ collection at the high-end luxury store. The holiday collection will include several items and will range from approximately $30 up to $40,000. But, Hov’s prize possession will probably be the release of his first ever mens fragrance.
The ‘GOLD’ perfume will come in a white bottle with a gold cap. The scent is a mixture of white cardamom, ginger, grapefruit, blueberry, and subtle hints of bourbon vanilla, patchouli, and vetiver. GOLD will cost $30 (30 ml), $55 (50 ml), and $70 (90 ml). As do with other celebrity and well-known fragrances, hopefully, Jay-Z’s GOLD will offer holiday gift packs as well.
GOLD will make its debut in Barneys on November 20th. The fragrance will make its appearance at several other department stores on November 29th. International consumers will have to wait until 2014.
When Justin Timberlake sings, people tend to listen. His critically acclaimed hit single, “Suit & Tie” which released in the early part of this year, was an ode to the almost super human nature of wearing the ensemble many see as the ultimate symbol of power (and sexy). The song centered on his desire to seduce his lady, while being sure to give credence to the power of his, “Suit & Tie.” Again, few things represent, “ready for business” more than a Suit and Tie, whatever “business” that may consist of. It’s the quintessential attire for the serious and invested. Personal style can largely differ from man to man (and woman), with age, education, and profession all playing a significant role in the presentation of men worldwide. Yet it is the suit and tie that most would agree serves the great unifier. Even today’s rapper is wise to the power of a well-tailored suit and tie. It’s almost as common to see your TI’s and Jeezy’s in 3 piece slim cut business suits, as readily as you’d see them in a white tee, camo shorts and J’s.
Suit and ties serve a number of purposes. They can help to bolster our confidence, enhance our style and look, and most importantly, it says to people, “I mean business.” Whether you’re conducting million dollar deals on a regular basis, you’re trying to make a stellar first impression on a date, or you’re finally ready for the next stage in your career and want to show your employer you’re ready for the big leagues, the suit and tie is a pivotal part of the equation. As with anything else, there will always be a faction of people who refuse to get with the times or the policies of perceived social (business) etiquette. There are plenty of men who think wearing a suit, God forbid a tie, is somehow a relinquishing of his individuality or worse, his freedom. The anti-conformist is generally how they look at themselves. Those of us who are avid suit wearers know it’s quite the opposite. The relaxed urban look may be acceptable on a Saturday afternoon at a backyard BBQ, but it is becoming less acceptable when the sunsets and the evening emerges as a platform of opportunity. A suit and tie reflect that a person is serious about whatever it is they’re involved with, big or small and should be taken just a little bit more seriously. Sure, the character and substance of a man is ultimately most important, but it is the outward presentation that often entices people to take the time to delve deeper.
All men should own a suit and tie. Starting with a solid color (preferably blue or black) for starters is most advisable. From Blue-collar worker to the Wall Street executive, having a (well tailored) suit and tie means you’re prepared for opportunity if and when it arises. For those whose jobs and lifestyles do not require them (at present) it is still necessary to make the investment. Perhaps there’s an opportunity that arises last minute and it requires professional attire (i.e. interview, etc.), if you only have a pair of slacks and a dress shirt from high school, chances are you’ll miss out. Famed French chemist Louis Pasteur said it best, “chance favors the prepared mind.” Preparedness is essential in business and in life. So heed the advice and invest. You don’t have to spend several thousand dollars on a Tom Ford custom, but you can go to your local department or specialty stores (Jos A. Bank, Bloomingdales) and come out looking like a mogul in the making for only a few hundred dollars. When opportunity knocks, you’ll be able to say confidently, “I’ve got my suit & tie, so come on in.”

Last night, all of Hollywood came out in style to the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards. This year marked the 65th season of the prestigious awards ceremony. With each year, more and more attention is paid to the infamous red carpet. And well this year…things weren’t any different.
Our favorite “Scandal” sister, Kerry Washington, hit the red carpet in a elegant Marchesa free flowing chiffon gown. The delicate flower details really made Kerry look very angelic and light (which is a stark contrast to most fabrics we normally see walking on the red carpet). Another woman who made a nice red carpet debut is former 106th & Park host Rocsi Diaz.
Not sure who the designer is at this time, but Rocsi rocked the hell out of that electric blue dress. Werk girl!
More of our female celebrity favorites also brought the fabulousness to the carpet: Heidi Klum, Tina Fey, Carrie Underwood , and Shawn Robinson. Check out what these ladies strutted their stuff in last night:
Of course, there are plenty more actresses/entertainers we left out. To see the full gallery, go to www.emmys.com.
So, who do you think rocked it best?

Known as a fashion guru and artistic director for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs will add one more business to his multi-million dollar empire. This time, he has launched a makeup line called ”Marc Jacobs Beauty”.
Marc Jacobs Beauty will consist of over 122 products ranging from $18 to $78. The beauty products will reflect the sleekness and ultra-shine qualities that were evident on a table he has in his home. He said that this coffee table was the inspiration for the product line.
Mr. Jacobs says he was drawn to the combination of the table’s shape and finish, making it at once strong and soft. He also appreciated the simplicity of design. “When you have something that has that kind of finish that’s so particular and beautiful, it doesn’t need to be ornate,” he said. (Source)
The products, which will go on sale this Friday, August 9, will be sold at Sephora and selected Marc Jacobs stores. Here are a few of the products (with prices) that will be sold:
Wiz Khalifa has always been a huge fan of Converse sneakers since the start of his career. So, it is not a surprise that he will now be releasing his very own collection.
The Wiz Khalifa Collection by Converse will hit Foot Locker stores on August 23. Watch the official commercial teaser for the Wiz’s collection:
When it was announced that Kanye West would team up with the French fashion brand, A.P.C., no one ever thought that he’d sell t-shirts. After having other fail attempts at becoming a world renowned fashion designer, Kanye may have found his niche in casual men’s clothing.
A.P.C. designer Jean Touitou and West came together, over a span of two years, to design a special collection for the A.P.C. brand. West’s collection consists of jeans, hoodies, and t-shirts. When it comes to design aesthetics and creativity, you would think the collection would be a bit unique. However, the clothing is just the opposite. The new collection is very casual and represents West’s latest indulgence in minimalism.
Despite the uproar received on social media sites regarding the pricing of the clothes, Touitou says that West’s collection is flying off the shelves in Paris. The day the items went on sale online, ALL of it sold out and the A.P.S. website crashed.
The collection was restocked this weekend, but immediately sold out again. There are only less popular sizes still available like 24/25 jeans and a XXL in t-shirts. Luckily, the website will be taking pre-orders for a limited time for silkscreened tees with skeletons on it for about $137 in U.S. dollars, or gray hoodies for about $222.
“A woman’s perfume tells more about her than her handwriting” -Christian Dior
Better late than never is how I choose to describe this article. Yes I realize, most writers have their summer scent list in by April. I understand this is almost the middle of summer, to speak about my Olfactory Nirvana. I apologize in advance and will aim to do better with the fall list.
Perfume choices vary from woman to woman. Different scents offer different results, depending on the individual’s body chemistry. It is better to visit the perfume counter ask for a sample, before you commit to the purchase. This is usually a safer and more cost effective method. The scent may smell good to you in the store or on the pages of a magazine, but the real test is, will it smell good on you?
So if you’re like me and you waited this long to find your summer scent(s), below I have suggested scents and reasonable priced websites, where they can be purchased….if you don’t want to pay department store prices:
J’adore- Infused with Ylang-Ylang Essence, Damascena Rose Essence, Samblac Jasmine Absolute. J’adore is a true blend of femininity, wealth and sensuality.
Philosophy’s Field Of Flowers – One whiff of this scent, reminds you of all that is perfect in the world. Infused with a base of America Peony, Mandarin Honeysuckle and Satin Woods. Field of Flowers is sure to strike, remembrance of joy and purity, allowing the world to be viewed through rose colored glasses, if only just for a moment.
Ralph Lauren Romance Summer- Allow yourself to bask is summer’s unforgettable ambiance. Ingrained with mandarin, guava, jasmine, coconut water and vanilla. This fragrance is both unforgettable and romantic.
Balenciaga L’Eau- Classic and chick… this fragrance is timeless. This is a girlish combination of rose, violet, blackberry and patchouli. It offers a soft lingering scent in the air even after you have gone.
J’Adore Summer- I am a huge Dior fan when it comes to fragrances. This flirty fragrance was first introduced in 2004. J’Adore’s summer fragrance is a perfect blend of champaca flower, mandarin, crystallized orchid, jasmine, muguet, violet Damascus plum, amaranth wood and blackberry musk.
If you are like me and love to change to your scent depending on your mood, but know that it can get a bit costly, I have listed a few websites below that can be of assistance:

In addition to the music, Style and Fashion appeared to be the driving force of this years BET Awards 2013. One particular statement that made headlines was from actress Meagan Good. Meagan has starred in several hit films such as “Eve’s Bayou,” “In Too Deep” and most recent TV drama series “Deception”. Meagan is in the spotlight but not for her work in the TV & Film industry but instead her bold royal blue plunging neckline, hit slit gown that she strutted on the red carpet. Meagan’s gown choice has been the hot topic because of her marriage to TV/movie executive and Seventh Day Adventist preacher Devon Franklin. Although slammed for the gown being to “revealing” and being a preacher’s wife, Devon Franklin stands by his wife’s sexy signature style.
After receiving many disgruntle comments regarding her attire and her “non-Christian-ish” behavior, the actress clapped back at one hater via Instagram. Here is what Meagan said to defend her choice of wardrobe:
“@ adriannacolbert – That’s the thing Girl- is that I don’t feel convicted about this at all. my spirit is saddened that our people only know one way to think and process things..
I’m not any less holy because the dress I wore -I may not be who people think I should be -but I’m morphing into exactly who God wants me to be.. My excuse is never “I’m going to do me” and I don’t feel that I need to make an excuse or defend or what I wore .. I know I have a responsibility -and I’m working daily to fulfill the full potential of all God has created me to be..
A dialogue was started about my character, integrity, my walk with God and my Husband -simply based on a dress that I wore.., Of course I’m going to have a reaction to people saying negative things… It’s just sad.. Makes me sad not regretful.. My heart and spirit is always open to whatever my Father would want to share with me… And my spirit tells me to be exactly who I authentically am -because that’s what’s going to reach who I was authentically designed to touch.. people like me who are often misunderstood and told their cut of God’s promise -because they don’t look the role …when God doesn’t care about us “looking the role”…he is always cared about bringing us in -and us being whatever we need to be to bring Those left out in ..
And it just makes me sad that us as Christians can’t see beyond our initial reaction and don’t seek God before they attack other brothers and sisters …and never think for one moment that: God knows what he’s doing and he uses everything for his glory .. and he has a plan for every specific situation.. I had intentions on anything .. Merely picked a dress I saw and loved … God knows my heart and that I didn’t do anything wrong .. And he will use even people’s thoughts to bring him glory.”
What do you think? Was Meagan’s dress not representative of a true Christian woman?

Lately, celebrities are extremely concerned with how their image is seen. One bad shot could potentially kill the brand. Earlier this year, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter demanded that blogs and news sites pull unflattering Super Bowl pictures of her from the their websites. Now, Rihanna is taking a stance.
According to Eurweb.com, Rihanna’s legal team has filed a claim against a UK department store for selling a t-shirt with her face on it. The store, Top Shop, is one of the UK’s leading retail sellers of clothing and other merchandise for the young and hip. However, the pop star is dissatisfied with the t-shirt and the quality. The lawsuit claims that the store used a “low quality” picture from her “We Found Love” video shoot. The quality of the shirts were quoted as “poor” and that this was “a product that would not have been authorized by the first claimant.”
Rihanna is seeking $5 million in the lawsuit.
The 55th Grammys Award show went underway last night. Besides tuning in to see the great performances, many people tuned in to see the red carpet arrivals. Who doesn’t love to see the latest in fashion trends on some of our favorite celebrities?!! Get into a few of the looks from last night…
Who ROCKED IT at the 2013 Grammys??
Celebs like Kanye West, P. Diddy, and Chad Johnson have courageously worn kilts in public. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and others has embraced the whole skinny jeans movement. Now, to take things a step further, men are rocking female leggings. Designers are capitalizing on the fashion trend and creatively coined the name “meggings” to describe this type of pant. Rock artists historically are known to wear tight fitting pants or meggings. But, meggings hit the rap world when A$AP Rocky graced 106 & Park with a long dress shirt and meggings. We’re all for being unique and fashion forward. But, are designers taking it too far?
Check out the video below to hear one guy’s experience while rocking a pair of meggings…
Guys, would you really wear this??

Monikered after his B.C.G affiliation, the Blue Collar Gang line features affordable attire made for the average man. Currently in Villa stores in the Midwest and East Coast, BCG offers t-shirts, sweat shirts, and hoodies.
“The brand BCG represents blue collar hardworking individuals. People who are family-oriented with family values and self-made attitudes. The clothing line adorn the graphic designs and custom logo from two counterparts, Ben Ferenz and BJ Betts.

Monday night, VH1′s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta aired the first of their two-part reunion show. Joseline, Mimi, K. Michelle, Karlie Redd, Rasheeda, Erica, Momma Dee, Lil Scrappy, Benzino, Stevie J, and Ariane were all in attendance to get some sh*t off their chest. Plainly put, the reunion show was OFF THE CHAIN! Not so much regarding the negative stereotypes critics say is a disgrace to Black culture, but in a hour viewers laughed their butts off to pure comedy.
Despite a little bafoonery here and there, the ladies and gents kept their composure for the most part. Sometimes it takes a person to get all dressed up (except for Stevie J who chose to wear a polo shirt and jeans) for them to keep it classy. Thus, this recap is all about the reunion show fashions. Who hit the mark? Who did not? Let’s take a quick look back and decide…
The self-proclaimed “baddest b*tch” Ms. Joseline wore a electric blue wrap dress. The dress had a long slit that was stragetically worn to entice the viewers and members of the audience. She definitely exudes sex appeal in a “womanly” kind of way. But, to match the dress with some clear hooker heels was not the move. It didn’t give her overall look the cohesive-yet-stylish feel that we’re sure Joseline was going for. As for her makeup and hair, the b*tch was beat! Yes Gawd!
Karlie Redd…oh Karlie. *sigh* The red sequins cocktail dress and black sparkly pumps didn’t hit the mark. Not that it was ugly. It was just safe! She could have brought it a little more. Not having a standout role on LHHATL should have been motivation to create a shock factor at the reunion. Oh well…maybe next year Karlie!
Atlanta’s underground rap diva, Rasheeda, too kept it simple. The black and gold freakum dress and sparkly gold pumps wasn’t anything fantastic. But I guess with a pretty face and nice hair, a chick don’t have to get too wild with the clothes. Rasheeda’s hair was laid and her face was beat. She looked nice!
Self-sufficient..but still the most confused of them all, Mimi Faust, kept it classy in a pink/fuschia satin dress and nude pumps. Thank Gawd for the pumps! Because if she wore them nude wedges (we’ve seen ALL season) one more time…!!! SMH Her whole outfit was age appropriate. It was overall a good look for Mimi. But, if she could’ve chosen a style-forward hair style, her look would’ve been complete.
Stevie J maintained his persona in red jeans and a polo shirt. Honestly, I don’t blame Stevie. The LHHATL set looked low-budgety and thrown together. So, why even put in the effort to get all dressed up?! Really…like what for??
Erica, Scrappy, and Momma Dee decided on black as the focal color. The “Put Dem Paws On Ya” hit’em up squad tried their best. Erica, who is truly a stunning brown skinned woman, wore a cute spaghetti strapped dress. Her shoes were black with a gold platform at the bottom. Her hair, however, was too “im on my way down the altar”-ish. Overall, Erica looked good.
Scrappy wore grey jeans, a black vest, a white wide collar shirt. Why the big collar Scrap?!! Should we assume you went DOLO and styled yourself? It sure looks like it. But, we’ll give you a C for at least trying.
Last, but not to be forgotten, is K. Michelle and Mona. K. Michelle wore an electric blue jumper with gold Lou’s. The blue really popped on K. And the shoes set it off in the right way. While K. Michelle gave the cameras a lot of cleavage, the extended diamond cross earrings made a statement of their own. The disappointment though was her hair. We didn’t quite understand what it was suppose to look like. As much as K like to change hairstyles, most of her fans thought she could’ve done much better.
Mona Scott, the executive producer of the show and host, wore a off-white pants suit and snake skin pumps. She made a decent statement with the hint of color on her shirt. Mona looked age appropriate and like a true boss lady.
Who had the hottest look? Let us know your opinions, we’d like to know!
This morning, the weather was in the 60′s here in Atlanta. Luckily, I had a three quarter length Gap jacket as I arrived back home from Miami. If not, chill bumps would’ve quickly appeared on my arms as I walked out of baggage claim door S5. But, I am not leery of the sudden change of weather. I am ready to embrace it. It is the coming of my favorite season…Fall! And with fall comes great fashion.
The 2012 fall season of warm colors, heavier sport coats, booties, etc is expected to be dramatic and sophisticated. Fashion houses and designers focused in on three key fabrics this year. Those key fabrics are Leather, Leopard, and Lace. All three of these items speaks sexiness. From skinny leg jeans to shift dresses, either one can be paired with other colors to offset the richness of these fabrics. If you dare to standout with sophistication, there are many options to choose from. Here are a few I picked out for the fashionably conscious:
Forget about hats or a standard headband…the latest fashion trend can help any chick having a bad hair day.
Forehead bands crept up in the fashion world a couple years ago when stars like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie found a clever way to jazz up their looks. From very inexpensive chains or high-end jeweled bands, these bands offers an unique flavor to any outfit. This accessory can be found in any department store or online. If you wish to rock a simple slick-back hairdo, throw in a cute twist with one of these forehead bands.
Check out a few we’ve selected:
Michael Vick’s career has truly did a 360 degree turn. After returning to the league with great praise, showing us all that he’s stil got skills on the field, and recently wedding his longtime girlfriend Kijafa Frink, Mike Vick’s life is blessed. But the buck will not stop there. He’s just launched a new clothing line, called V7.
During his Atlanta Falcons days, Mike Vick’s name and number garnered one of the highest-grossing jerseys ever to sell. So it may be safe to say that the V7 line stands a great chance at becoming a real money maker.
According to the Associated Press, the V7 line will include t-shirts, shorts, and tank tops. The prices range from $12.99 to $19.99. Also to continue his philanthropic efforts, proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.
Ever wanted to be an overall eco-friendly fashionista but had no clue how to begin??? Well, look no further, many designers are now evolving organic fabrics into their esthetics. The very popular H&M stores are currently carrying a line of trendy “green” garments. These fierce peices are not expensive, but very affordable…staying true to form to H&M’s style.
Here are a few ”green” garments to check out:
