If you work for the state of California, you may not be reimbursed for travel and meal expenses any longer. Due to the rising $15 billion statewide deficit, California state legislators are unable to come to an agreement on how to resolve the problem. It is said that American Express has been carrying $10.4 million in unpaid charges made by state workers and agencies since July 1. According to Amex, this has gone on way too long and may cause them to cutoff all credit cards carried by state employees. In effort to try to cut back some of the deficit, state agencies have stopped reimbursing employees for travel expenses charged with the credit cards. (Source)
