American Idol Jordin Sparks is set to be the “cover girl” for this year’s U.S 10K Classic, Atlanta’s premier multi-event road race. The U.S. 10K Classic will consist of runners, walkers, inline skaters, wheelchair athletes and professional cyclists coming together in an effort to raise awareness and funds for children’s charities in Georgia and for the future development of the World’s Children Center. The World’s Children center will house 500 orphaned and abused children from all over the world. Don Whitney, president of the U.S. 10K Classic, says Sparks “was chosen for her connection to teens and children. We were so pleased she agreed to help raise awareness for the World’s Children Center.” Miss Sparks will kick off the event by singing the National Anthem. She’s also scheduled to perform at the Publix Finish Line Celebration which will be held at White Water Park. The U.S 10K Classic will take place as always on Labor Day in Cobb County with pre-race festivities taking place on August 30-31.
