Things may not be going well on the field for New England Patriot’s defensive end Jarvis Green, but things are definitely on the up and up for him off the field. In addition to recently hosting a mini-golf tournament that benefited Green’s foundation which helps single mothers in New Orleans and victims of Hurricane Katrina, he also just opened his own restaurant.

The Capitol Restaurant is in Green’s hometown of Donaldsonville, LA. On why he chose this location, Green says, “I chose Donaldsonville because it’s my hometown. I’m giving 30-plus jobs to the community and making it a place where people can come eat, laugh and have a great time.” Green says he chose the name The Capitol in an effort to give his town a little swag and because it was the first Capitol of Louisiana back in 1830.

Green also owns a liquor store in Baton Rouge named Green’s Purple and Gold and is looking to franchise The Capitol Restaurant in the near future.
