In his attempt to win his 5th heavyweight title and become the oldest heavyweight to win a major belt, 46-year-old, Evander Holyfield fell short by majority decision Saturday night. Holyfield lost to 7-foot Russian fighter Nikolai Valuev in a bout that was ruled a draw by one judge, while the other judges’ scores were 116-112 and 115-115 with Valuev winning.

Here’s what each fighter had to say about the match…

“Of course I am disappointed,” Holyfield said. “I thought I had done enough to get the win. Now I have to go home and think about my future.”

“He made me work very hard for the win,” said Valuev, “Holyfield was unbelievable with his speed. The fight was fought at a great tempo for the whole 12 rounds.”

Now will you retire Holyfield???
