One person in the rap game who you can never really hate on is SNOOP DOGG. With his cool demeanor and smooth wordplay, he has righteously earned the title of Icon because he is one-of-a-kind. Snoop’s been in the game for over 10 years. And unlike many, he and his cohorts have taken his brand and cultivated it [year by year] into an international household name.

Well the Long Beach, CA native has done it again. MTV and Snoop Dogg released a statement on Tuesday that he’s inked a global deal with the network and will bring some new ish to the entertainment world. First is a new variety talk show called “Dogg After Dark”. The show premiers Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 9pm.

“Dogg After Dark” is a weekly variety talk show filmed at Los Angeles nightclub Kress, and will find Snoop interviewing celebrities and musicians, and will also feature sketch-comedy segments and musical performances. The show will air every Tuesday night for seven weeks and feature Snoop’s own in-house band, the Snoopadelics (of course, an homage to the legendary group Parliament-Funkadelic, whose music is a keystone of West Coast rap).

Also he will release this year a new album, Malice in Wonderland, which will host appearances by Dr. Dre and Pharrell Williams. Additional new music will be served to the public via the video game Rock Band.

No statement has been released as to how much this new multidimensional deal is worth. But MTV did report that this deal will provide global promotional, marketing, and distribution.
