According to recent reports, filmmaker Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Studios have acquired the life rights of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in hopes of bringing the civil rights leader to the big screen. In a press release, Spielberg said that his hopes for the film is that it is “of undeniable power that we can all be proud of”.

The deal was negotiated by King’s son, Dexter King, who is the chief executive of the King estate. Sadly to say, this has sparked yet another wave of conflict amongst the King siblings. Martin Luther King III and Bernice King, who heard about the deal via an email from Dexter, are saying that the deal is invalid and “are taking action” against it.

We’ll have to wait and see if this really makes it to theaters! What do you think?
