Several hip-hop websites that were popular for being the “spot” to download new music has have been shut down by the feds. As part of a federal crackdown on online piracy of music and movies, websites such as Onsmash.com and Rapgodfathers.com were seized by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The sites’ content was replaced with a message that read…“This domain name has been seized by ICE – Homeland Security Investigations, pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by a United States District Court.” According to the New York Times, several other domains were seized that belonged to sites selling counterfeit clothing and DVDs.

 While it appears that the feds may be shutting piracy down, don’t be surprised if some of these sites make their way back to the world wide web. Shortly after the shutdown, here’s what one site tweeted…
