Actors Taye Diggs, Derek Luke and Omar Epps have all managed to snag starring roles in 3 separate pilots for upcoming television drama shows. Here’s what each of the fellas having going on…

 

Taye Diggs who’s gig on the show Private Practice recently came to an end will now co-star in TNT”s murder mystery show called Murder in the First. He will co-star alongside Kathleen Robertson and play the role of a homicide detective by the name of Terry Seagrave.

According to sources, the murder mystery will be based on two high-profile murder cases detailing the police investigation, arrest and the trials. Viewers will get an up-close look at the workings of modernized justice system. Steven Boncho (Raising the Bar) created the show and will serve as executive producer.

As for Derek Luke, his shine will come by way of CBS’s upcoming drama pilot Second Sight in which he will play the role of Detective Paul Giroux. His character is said to be quite confident and one that tends to assert an authority beyond his calling as part of an investigative team within the New Orleans Police Department.

Luke will co-star alongside Jason Lee, Kim Dickens, Erik Jensen, Madison Moellers and singer Jill Scott.

After a long stint on the hit television series House, Omar Epps is putting his hat back in the ring with a starring role in ABC’s upcoming supernatural drama pilot The Returned. Epps will take on the role of Martin Bellamy who is a former cop turned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

 

The show is based on a novel by Jason Mott of the same name which is based on a town in which the dead return to make an impact on the lives of those they left behind.
