andre-sharon-benjaminThe mother of Outkast’s Andre “3000” Benjamin was found dead in her home in Rex, Georgia.  Sharon Benjamin-Hodo’s untimely cause of death is unknown. But authorities state that she may have passed away while sleeping.

 

Mrs. Hodo was the wife of Pastor Robert Hodo of New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church in Conley, GA.  She was known amongst friends and family to be a very funny woman with a wonderful spirit. Mrs. Hodo founded The Starlight Camp for underprivileged kids, in which she operated out of the church.

 

Unfortunately, her passing is said to have happened on her son’s birthday. Andre 3000 turned 38 years old.

 

As more information become available, we will keep you posted. Until then, in lieu of flowers the family asks that the public support The Starlight Camp.
