The Denver Broncos defeated the defending Super Bowl Champions Baltimore Ravens 49-27 to kick off the start of the 2013 NFL Season. Peyton Manning threw for 7 touchdowns and set a Broncos record with 7 touchdowns. He became the sixth person to throw 7 touchdowns in a game.  The Ravens led 17-14 during halftime. After halftime, the Broncos scored 21 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter.  Julius Thomas, the Broncos new starting Tight End, had a breakout game.  Thomas had 4 catches for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half.

This is Thomas third season in the NFL and, prior to this game, Thomas only had one career catch for five yards. Thomas finished the game with 7 catches for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Newcomer and former New England Patriot, Wes Walker had 11 catches for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns in his Broncos debut. After this game, the Broncos clearly the favorites to win the AFC West Division again. It’s only one game in the season, but if the Ravens defense doesn’t step up, it’s going to be a long season.
