STACKS Magazine find great pleasure in spotlighting individuals who give back to the community. True character is revealed through simple acts of kindness…especially if you are a celebrity.

Rapper YG is being celebrated this time for his generosity this Christmas.  In his first community outreach initiative, YG held a statewide essay contest for some local Los Angeles kids.  Youth from various L.A. County Group Homes got the opportunity to send in essays in hopes of winning a holiday shopping spree courtesy of YG.  Hundreds of submissions were filtered by YG himself and narrowed down to 60 recipients.

As a product of that community, YG understood the importance of giving back.

“My Christmas shopping experience should be a reminder to all to give back. The children were able to be carefree for a day and not have to face his or her reality,” YG said.

In the video, YG show us how this experience all went down at Fox Hills Mall.  He mentions that approximately $10,000 was spent on the kids. Also, Snoop Dogg was generous enough to donate some dollars to the cause.
