The Underachievers (Issa Gold @issa_gold) and AK @iunderachieve)have worked diligently to put their stamp on the hip hop map. Thus far, their touring and recording has been pretty rigorous. Yet, they haven’t garnered the consideration they feel they deserve. Consequently, they have worked to improve their sound. Cellar Door is the product of a lot of hard work and growth.

Due to the lyrical style that The Underachievers have developed, they have made some good music.  It is an appealing mixture of the carnal, the truthful, the spiritual, and the revolutionary. “Nebulous” lets loose through a dark, yet rolling rhythm with lyrics like “while I’m living dreams/why don’t go out/nigga get you some”. Also, their approach can easily be heard on tracks like the motivating “Sonorous” to the Statik Selektah handled “Radiance”. Undoubtedly, The Underachievers show their humanity by expressing their entire mortal existence through rhyme schemes.

Although many will say this album is monotonous, others will enjoy its level of consistency. And consistency is an attribute that will help this group stand out. Now all they have to do is make music that “stands the test of time”. Still, it can be easily seen that they are on the right track. The Underachievers can make their careers happen once they fully evolve their music.
