Family Arrested for Child Neglect

Kids found in unlivable conditions….

Police followed up on a search warrant after Duke Energy cut off power at an Orange County home for thousands of dollars in unpaid utility bills. Police say when they arrived at the home they found a family squatting with 6 kids. The parents of the children, 35 year-old DaQuan Smith, 32 year-old Eboni Tucker and Smith’s mother Delthy Graham age 50, were all arrested for child neglect amongst other charges including an outstanding warrant for Tucker.

Police reports state that they found toilets with feces, trash inside and outside the home and dog feces on the floors and beds where the children appeared to be sleeping. Police say that the family had been stealing water from a neighbor’s home.

The Department of Children and Family was called to investigate and turned the children over to a family member. All of the adults have since bonded out of jail.
