Andrew Wiggins Wins NBA Rookie of the Year Award

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins was named the 2014-15 KIA NBA Rookie of the Year. Wiggins averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds. Wiggins led all Rookies in scoring. Wiggins was the number one overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft and drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Wiggins was traded along with Anthony Bennett and the Cavs received the Wolves Star Forward Kevin Love. Wiggins received 110 out of 130 first-place votes and finished with 604 total votes.

Chicago Bulls Forward Nikola Mirotic finished second with 14 first-place votes and 335 total votes. For the month of April in eight games, Wiggins averaged 23.3 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Wiggins is the first Wolves player to be named NBA Rookie of the Year. The future is looking bright for Wolves and Wiggins should become an All-Star soon.
