The Drake era is real!

What will be, as many are predicting, Drake’s second-best selling album of 2015 is his latest project with Future, “What A Time To Be Alive.” The album was released on Sunday and is expected to hit 500,000 sales in its first week.

The celebration of this latest project comes after the release of his platinum-selling mixtape, “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.” It exploded out the gate by selling 495,000 units in its first week. There’s clearly a powerful source besides Drake, the person, that continues to push the limits of what hip-hop artists can do in record sales.

For Drake, his fans on social media has shown their undying support time after time. Along with Future’s #FutureHive, the diamond emoji played a major part in helping to brand WATTBA. Even to the point of tormenting Meek Mill and Ciara and their fans, which in turn peeks the curiosity of their fans just enough for them to go out and buy the album.

Trickery at its finest!

Drake is the man right now. There’s no denying that. His next project is his long-awaited, Views from the 6, album. No word yet on when that will arrive. But some anticipate that the project will drop before the year end.
