NC Police Chief Under Fire

Police chief criticizes Black Lives Matter….

Ex-police Chief Mike Halstead was forced into retirement after he took to Facebook about his thoughts on the #BlackLivesMatter movement. The Chief stated that he felt the movement was “an American-born terrorist group.”

In an approx. 600 word open letter, he wrote “this Black Lives Matter group is nothing more than an American-born terrorist group brought on by the lie of the hands up, don’t shoot during the criminal thug Michael Brown incident.”

The movement gained traction after the death of unarmed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Halstead said in the post, which has been taken down, that he judged people by their actions, not their skin color. Although he feels he was denied his 1st Amendment, he apologized to anyone he offended.
