Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey appeared on the social media platform this week to ask users what changes they’d like to see in the future. During this impromptu discussion, several suggestions were made on how to improve the service. Many users asked for better functionality when tweeting and, coincidentally, this was one of the company’s biggest concerns.

To help make the user experience more worthwhile, here are 5 Twitter Changes to Expect in the Near Future:

  1. Adding an “edit” button (with a limited time span for edits)
  2. Change log that will allow users to view different versions of the same tweet.
  3. Customized breaking news alerts
  4. Improved Direct Messaging feature
  5. Tweet bookmarking

In addition to the upcoming functionality and feature changes, Dorsey was also bombarded with users asking for more ways to prevent harassment and hate. Although Twitter is a free speech-based platform, the company has done “some” extermination of right-wing extremists user accounts. However, users feel as though not enough is being done and that Twitter does a horrible job at imposing their own terms of service.
