Mary J. Blige’s role in Mudbound proved to be Oscar worthy, but not financially satisfying.

Details continue to emerge about the Blige’s pending divorce trial against Kendu Isaacs. According to reports, the singer’s Oscar-nominated performance hasn’t netted her any money. Isaacs is demanding spousal support, but Blige and her legal team are fighting to dead that. Blige believes she shouldn’t have to pay when Isaacs’ managerial skills were the reason for her financial demise.

Blige has taken various television and film roles since filing for divorce in July 2016. However, those projects haven’t helped increase your bank account balance. Most of Blige’s money have come from touring, but according to court documents, “there is no market for her to embark on a major world tour every year.”

Blige claims she is in financial straits. She owes approximately $25 million in label advances and doesn’t even own her own music catalog. Documents also state that her and Isaacs accumulated $12 million in debt during their marriage.

Isaacs claims that he can’t get a job and has suffered from stress, which hospitalized him in early 2018.
