Earlier we reported that the NFL wasn’t allowing Chad (Johnson) Ocho Cinco to change his name on the field (after he legally changed it in the state of Florida) until certain issues were resolved. These issues primarily concerned Chad’s contract with Reebok who produces the reciever’s jersey with the name Johnson on it. So here’s how the NFL says the issue can be resolved.

The former Mr. Johnson would be forced to buy out the stock of the 100,000 remaining “C. Johnson” jerseys before making the switch to “Ocho Cinco”. If Reebok asked Ocho Cinco to pay for the cost of making the unsold jerseys, the total could reach upwards of $4 million (or $50 million pesos).

Quite interesting! Will a name change be worth it?
