Roland Powell aka Lil Duval has come a long way from his earlier days as a stand-up comedian.  Lately, the Jacksonville, Florida native has been making major moves into the mainstream via movies and television shows. Despite his urban roots, he’s becoming one of the most sought after comedians with regular roles on MTV’s Guy Code and Hip Hop Squares. This past weekend, he co-hosted the MTV European Music Awards alongside Guy Code co-star Andrew Schulz.  Via his Twitter account (@LilDuval), you could tell he was gloating in the moment.  This was his first time hosting an event of this magnitude.  The opportuntity definitely broaden Duval’s appeal amongst mainstream America and internationally.  Good look Lil Duval!

Additionally, Lil Duval continues to enhance his acting skills.  He’ll star in a new straight-to-dvd film, Highway, alongside rapper Devin the Dude.  Set to be released in stores on tomorrow November 13, the hilarious story line revolves around two friends taking a road trip to find, and hopefully confiscate, large amounts of marijuana.

 

Synopsis:

 

Two marijuana-loving brothers, Earl and Ray Ray, embark on a journey in search of a mythical highway in Kentucky, which they believe will lead them to “marijuana nirvana”. After encountering several obstacles they find the crop and with a strategic plan in place Earl and Ray Ray attempt to trespass and steal the crop. Leaving a path of destruction behind them these two can’t seem to get out of Kentucky fast enough.
