ScoreBoard: Russell Westbrook Light Up Spurs for 40 Points, Thunder Even Series 2-2

Russell Westbrook scored a game-high 40 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 105-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder won both games in OKC and has tied the series at 2-2. Westbrook had a game-high 10 assists and scored more points than the Spurs starting lineup. Kevin Durant had 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Thunder. Serge Ibaka had 9 points, 8 rebounds and a game-high 3 blocks for the Thunder.

Tony Parker and Boris Diaw had a team-high 14 points for the Spurs. Diaw had a team-high 10 rebounds for the Spurs. Tim Duncan had a quiet game with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the Spurs. The Spurs shot 39.8 percent from the field compared to the Thunder 48.7 percent. The Spurs made 33.3 percent of their shots from downtown and the Thunder made 43.8 percent of theirs. The Thunder had 27 fast break points compared to the Spurs 0 fast break points.

 

The Thunder dominated this game all across the board and the Spurs will host game five and game seven if necessary. The Spurs need to win game five if they wish to advance to the NBA Final;, two years ago the Spurs went up 2-0 against the Thunder and the Thunder won the next four games in a row. The Spurs have home court advantage throughout the playoffs and the ball is in their court to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.
