T
he Miami Dolphins ended The New England Patriots’ record winning streak of 21 regular-season wins in what has been referred to as “a stunning domination” in Sunday’s game. The score was 38-13. This also ended the Patriots chance of having their second straight undefeated regular season. Ironically, the Patriots winning streak began after their 21-0 loss to the Dolphins back in December 2006.

While this wasn’t a good thing for the Patriots, it’s definitely got the Dolphins pumped up considering that they ended last season 1-15 and this is only their second win in 22 games. It’s also the first victory for the Dolphins’ new head coach Tony Sparano. “Obviously, it’s a pretty emotional deal here,” he said. “I love what they did. Their effort was tremendous today, it really was. They executed the game plan on both sides of the ball to perfection.”

The star of the night was Dolphins’ running back Ronnie Brown who set a team record with four touchdowns rushing and threw for another with a 19-yard pass. “When they [the Patriots] get settled, they’re pretty fundamentally sound as a defense,” said Brown, “so we wanted to give them something to adjust to.” The Patriots just never got around to it.
