Chris “Ludacris” Bridges exited a Georgia courtroom a happy man after being given full custody of his 13-month old daughter, Cai. For over a year, Ludacris and Tamika Fuller (the child’s mother) has been battling it out in court over child support and custody.

But, on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, Ludacris won the battle.

“After review of all the evidence, the testimony of the witnesses, the report of the guardian ad litem, and the claims made throughout this entire case, I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter,” Ludacris told People magazine. To secure the win, some believe Ludacris’s recent (overnight) wedding to longtime girlfriend, Eudoxie Mbouguiyengue, was the nail-in-the-coffin to gain custody. In most circumstances, a two parent household is preferred over a single-parent household. However, Ludacris’s wealth and celebrity may have played a minor part in the judges decision.

Tamika Fuller was awarded visitation rights. The details of their parenting arrangement are pending.
